JOINT 2 JOINT'S CRYPTIC SEGUE.... Ok, I guess im one of the few who likes Emancipation (some iffy production aside, ill take it over Rave, Chaos & Disorder & NEWS any day hands-down. That aside, I was listening 2 one of my fave trax from the album 2day, and I'd totally forgotten about that wierd-assed segueway at the close of the song.
WTF IS THAT ALL ABOUT?!?!? Any ideas - cuz Im totally in the dark...

i just discovered that myself a coupla months ago. i can't stand most of the material on disc II, so it's hardly been "headphone material" over the years...i recently put J2J on a comp i made for myself, though, and i discovered the segue with that kooky little spoken word thing. that whole song is full of THANGS in my opinion, though. it's like his brain exploded all over the studio or something.

What does the segue say? SO WHAT IF WE'RE CONTROLLING ALL THE OIL, IS IT WORTH THE CHILD DYING 4?

What's that before the beginning of Holy River? "Why'd I waste my kisses on you baby?" R.I.P. Prince You've finally found your way back home. Well Done.

Is this the "come upstairs to my room" part?
Or the cap'n'crunch part?

Well, seeing as this precedes Savior, isn't it obvious? He's telling Mayte he wants to marry her. He is done with other women (yeah, right)

Interesting theory, but man, it's gotta be one of the wierdest segues ive heard him do (and let's face it - he's done a few!) 3bogs said: i dunno i'm afraid, but do you people pronounce it, "SAY-GE" or "SEG-WAY".

Interesting. the echo makes it really hard to hear whats happening and the segue doesn't make any sense, in relation to the songs its in between. It's just.....weird! or i could be a big loada crap so the cd could be EXACTLY one hour long . let's face it, there is alot of unneeded bits in emancipation, it's just there to make up the time!

The meaning here seems very plain and clear. It's part of "Holy River" and he's speaking to Mayte on the phone about the fact that he wants to marry her. Coming as it does after a song that's about casual sex, he's saying "That's all over now" meaning sleeping with other women. He feels confused and lonely (driving around by himself in a taxi), he's turning (a bit desperately) towards monogamy and marriage-- "Listen, I need 2 get with U / No, I mean 4, I mean 4 good."
Couldn't be much plainer, I think, I mean from the first time I listened to it I thought this was what it was about. Every now and then

It's just filler to make the disc exactly 60 minutes long. The whole point of Emancipation was that it was 3 discs (representing the three points of a triangle) exaclte 60 minutes long. And he said there were "many things hidden within...just like the pyramids of Egypt." I love that album.
