94 EAST featurning PRINCE

Has anyone ever heard of a 2 disc box set of -94 EAST featuring PRINCE-? I have heard this was recorded back in 1977 before his solo career started and was only released in ENGLAND in 1996 as a -LIMITED EDITION BOX SET- (17 tracks with prince on vocals + playing several instruments). Any information on this would help, thanks so much... thumbs up!

PBS

Yeah I have heard of it in fact I own a copy, It was released here in Australia at HMV record store a coupleof years ago.

I must admit I dont listen to it much, Prince's vocals are very clear. At first I thought it was possibly a boot, but I have been re-assured that it is'nt.

The 2-Disc set is available in the US for mucho cheapo, as is every other incarnation of these recordings (most recently "One Man Jam"). You can bid right now on these actual master tapes. See the news section.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

The original recordings date from 1977 or something ….
94 east managed to seperate the guitar-tracks played by Prince …
and they rebuild the songs around those guitar-tracks … this is done in 1987 and 1995

So … there’s nothing original about most of those recordings

actually, I have an old cassette from "Hot Pink Records" that's from 1984 that did this as well, so either they rebuilt the tracks earlier than 1987, or there wasn't much rebuilding. Until I got the two-disc "legend" collection (which is decent in both quality and packaging), I listened to this tape and found little or no difference in the levels.
