Thanks for that quote about Prince looking way too feminine. LOL This has been the complaint about him since Soft & Wet (and he had a big ole Foster Sylvers, Dr J afro -- patted and shaped unlike Big Ben).

I was embarrassed too, but I was living in CT at that time. And tons of folks came to see him in Hartford, including me. I was just happy that he was rocking the "Prince" album do. Didn't really care for the clothes but who cared when you saw Alphabet St for the 1st time?

Didn't care for the clothes (I'm lying...he could have pooed on clothes as long as he had that hair). And actually LoveSexy is a wonderful release. He also had some sista looking women included for once! And Sheila E toured w/him too.

That really tells me alot that 1988 LoveSexy photos are considered rare. This man appeals to so many people! And he's still alive and the bomb.

Whaaaaattttt!!!???

Lovesexy and SOTT were Prince's pure peak, in terms if music and how he presented himself! Lovesexy was fucking perfection, in that when you see concert pics from that time, and know what the music was about, he has that perfect "wild child" look. Damn near made me believe that he did have some sort of religious epiphany at that time. SOTT was the same, but it was more about creativity. And his stage presence/clothing presented that perfectly. Compare these two phases with, say, TGE or Emancipation. There was no cohesiveness. The only thing his gear stated during TGE was that ht was pissed and didn't give a fuck. Emancipation, it's like he just said, fuck it, this shit is comfortable.
