You can tell how old some of you are .

The worst Prince album that I bought was .....

Around The World In A Day.

I have grown to love the album for what it is but in 1985 when I bought this I almost cried .

I felt the same way!

The one album that has no redeeming value to me at all is The Rainbow Children! I tried, I really did but I cant stand it!

Old Friends For Sale and Come have one or two good songs each, otherwise they're crap!

I can't believe some of y'all called out The Black Album. It ain't SOTT or Lovesexy for that matter, but it is far from the worst Prince album. Nor can I believe ATWIAD is a bad album. Pop Life, Raspberry Beret, America and Condition of the Heart alone are worth the price of the album.

I'd say NewPowerSoul was the worst Prince LP I bought.

There have been several Prince albums that need time to be undestood by the masses .IMO the Rainbow Children will be one of those albums.

Hell it took SOTT 3 weeks to grow on me.

EXODUS!!! mad

I own some pretty sh*tty albums, but not a one from P is on the list.

Exodus? Well, I could do without Cherry, Cherry and Halucination Rain, but for me, this album is worth it for The Exodus Has Begun. I love that track.

NPS isn't great, and I rarely listen to it, but I love Come On and have burned it onto every Prince mix I've ever made.

C&D was meant to fulfill a contract, and you can tell, but the song Had U is brilliant stuff and I really like The Same December as well.

The Black Album? I really get into Le Grind and Rockhard In A Funky Place, not to mention Bob/George.

TRC has Family Name and The Work Pt I, two songs I really like.

Rave is a weak attempt at commercial success, but any album with I Love U But I Don't Trust You Anymore and Man O' War is worth my money.

Gold N*gga is my least listened to P album, but once again, Johnny makes it a worthy cause.

I don't think I'm biased, maybe I am, I just feel I'm of the opinion that he always throws at least one fabulous track into the mix.

I can't listen to "Graffiti Bridge" or "Under The Cherry Moon". "The Rainbow Children" disturbs me. I didn't mind "New Power Soul" or "Chaos and Disorder". They were better than having to hear that stupid Darth Vader voice in "The Rainbow Children"....that thing went from being scary, to disturbing, to annoying, to just causing anger to arise from my person after having to hear it for over an hour. It sucked, and it was hard to overlook it to actually focus on the good songs....all two of them.

1) His first album. I liked Not a single song on it and I couldn't stand his mousy voice.
2) New Power Scam - What kind of shit was that? The only songs I liked where "The One" and "Wasted Kisses"
3) Rave IN2 The Joy fantastic--the remixes and extended additions where worse than the originals.
4) NEWS
5) BATMAN
6) One Night Alonoe (Piano) - Liked 3 songs. Got embarassed by the rest.

-----
Albums I currently really dig, but didn't like when I first heard them
1. LoveSexy - Release after the masterpiece SOTT, I didn't know what to make of it? I took some getting used to. The Rap by KaT simply sucks.
2. PARADE - I was only 12 and expecting a return to Purple Rain. This was anything but. However, the songs are great and when I hear them now, they are SO different from anything on the radio that I apprieciate it for that.
3. EMANCIPATION - This was billed as the "Album prince was born to make", so I was expecting something much more earth shattering than a long album with too many songs and --gasp--COVERS of other people's stuff?
4. Diamonds and Pearls - He just sounded so...so....normal ? Although I still can't sit through the album from beggining to end, the songs on it are a bit better than some of his recent material.

The ironic thing is other than the song "Trust", none of the songs are really BAD. But for some reason they never added up to an album that I could listen to. I think it's becuase of the whole context of Batman. It was released after SOTT and LoveSexy and after I had heard the Black ALbum and several of the Crystal Ball boots. So it sounded rather tame to me, and since I had so many of the booted material in my hands, I didn't pay much attention to it.
Plus at that time, I was being introduced to the world of THe Cure, The Smiths, and Punk Music. Prince doing mainstream wasn't sitting well with me.

Prince to me is a kick ass edge artist who happens to sell a million records from time to time. He's never been a top 40 artist to me.

In reverse order:
5. Coming off the high of SOTT, the lovesexy album was a huge disapointment.
4. Batman really sucked, apart from the first two tracks
3. NEWS gets a tad boring and doesnt compare to Madhouse 8/16
2. Rainbow children. Musically interesting but lyrically left me cold
1. New power soul has no redeming features whatsoever.

My worst Prince Cd has to be, "Come" with exception of "Space" I really cannot stand that CD.

I see. So - you really can`t stand "Dark"? I don`t believe you.

To me, the CD just sounded like filler. It just did not grab me.
I would listen to "Rainbow Children" before listening to "Come"

I would have to agree. I think "Future" is an amazing song. The lyrics are pretty deep, if you listen. The sountrack is a "campy" soundtrack, for a "camp" movie. They go well together.

Pagey

Two Prince CDs I bought were just a plain waste of money. 1st one...1999 The New Master...He ruined one of the best songs he ever made with that one. He should've sucked it up and worked with WB and just re-released the original version. Did WB do it anyway? I can't remember.

2nd...would be For You. Not that its that bad...I just never listen to it.

Whoever said Controversy, The Black Album, Come, Exodus, and The Gold Experience ALL need a slap upside yo head! All are Prince classics. Check your head and try to listen again.

It was definitely "Parade". After the disappoinment of "Around The World In A Day", I heard "Kiss" on the radio and it was a jam. I said thank God, Prince is back but when I bought the album and listened to it I said "Hell no, what the fuck is wrong with him!" It had songs with an orchestra and there were corny songs like "Do U Lie". That album made "Around The World In A Day" sound like "1999".
Andy is a four letter word.
