Good grief, they only taped it a couple of weeks ago so it's not taking forever. Speaking as the owner of a multimedia production company, I can assure you that good quality video production does require real time. So does a crappy one for that matter, so just chill, it'll be out soon enough.

It's awesome that "Call My Name" is number 37! It's Prince's first top 40 R&B hit since "The Greatest Romance Ever Sold" reached #23 back in '99. And that was off of singles sales. This is his most successful song at R&B radio since...ummm....."Somebody's Somebody" in '97. If it goes much further, look for "Call My Name" to turn up on the main Hot 100 chart in 3 or 4 weeks.

Talking about internet sales these r physical albums not mp3 downloads.
i just read the fine print and found that out. Do they have figures for the mp3 downloads too. i mean at the begining alot of the sales were thru mp3s

>>If it goes much further, look for "Call My Name" to turn up on the main Hot 100 chart in 3 or 4 weeks. <<<

Yep, it seems to be getting close to entering the Hot 100. Doing a little quick research , it looks like it takes about a total of 2000 spins across all formats for an airplay only song to crack the Hot 100 . Here's "Call My Name" total as of Friday morning.

Urban 678 (+91)
Urban AC 661 (+152)
CHR-RHY 290 (+73)
CHR-POP 2 (+2)

Total spins : 1631 (+318)

It looked for a few days there that the song may be leveling off but it seems to have gained second wind over the past week. Another couple weeks of steady gains should put it on the Hot 100.

that CHR-POP 2 (+2) is a shame....hopefully something from this album will take off there

sell the CD single exclusively at existing shows. charge very little.
maybe include the call my name video on it too!! and some new song
That way u can have a big hit already i remeber yrs back they
had this single which sold for 64cents just casue the price was so cheap it became a big hit.

I mean distributing them to stores is pretty expensive so just do it at the show

i think the single you are talking about was from Mariah Carey..i think they made the single cheap cuz she going for some sort of record (#1 songs in a row i think) i think other artists started doing that and thats when things started changing with cd singles

Just think how much higher it could be if they'd ever put the album up at the iTunes store.

I predict Call My Name to be Prince's next #1 song!!
"Just like the sun, the Rainbow Children rise."

"We had fun, didn't we?"
