what's the longest time you've had a Prince song or album on REPEAT?

So far I'm on the "For You" album for 2 days straight - it's damn good to write to! biggrin

I know I have that beat though, I think I've had all these on repeat for DAYS & DAYS at a time: "Call My Name", "Forever In My Life" from the SOTT movie, "JIR" from It Ain't Ovah & songs ("Beautiful Strange, Whole Lotta Love, Something in the Water") from various boots I won't name for fear of newbies evillol j/k razz

What's your record?

What's the longest you've had a song or album on repeat? What song or album was it?

Do tell! biggrin
heart prince I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it prince heart

I've been stuck on "If I Was The Man In Ur Life" for awhile now, and I'll go for stretches listening to "17 Days" and "The Beautiful Ones" over and over. For albums...Dirty Mind usually goes into a rotation for days when it gets played, and so does Come, for some reason...

Oh, and Parade. It's easy to loop that one 'cause it's so short!

i can remember several entire afternoons listening to the "come" album over and over and over and over and over again. it's utterly repeatable, but after a while the end part with little miss moany-groany vanity can get a little grating...

I drive 52 miles to work in rush hour traffic and I drive back 52 miles to home in rush hour traffic. I have 2 songs on repeat in the car. If I was the Man in your Life and ICP&C. Every once in a while traffic will get thick and I'll listen to the traffic report, but then it's back to those two songs. When I am home from work, my other copy of Musicology is in the livingroom stereo. My 2-year-old daughter has heard ICP&C so much, she can sing the hook, and it's so freaking cute to listen to. giggle

Only if we can get her to stop saying fuck instead of fork. She's got a bit of a confusing accent. Both me and my husband are born and raised in NY and been in GA for 5 years. She was born here. She speaks with a NY accent peppered with southern twang. Hence fuck=fork. LOL

as long as I wasn't gone or watching TV since I saw his Concert in Omaha
on April 7th.....with alittle bit of other Music mixed in. I've been driving

My buddy and I spent most of the summer of 1986 listening to Parade. We both had many other favorite artists, but kept listening to Parade, again and again. Most evenings we would walk over to the garden on the other side of campus to smoke a bowl, but we sometimes ended-up humming or singing parts of Parade.

We were Philosophy majors, with many "deep" discussions under our belts, but Parade ruled that beautiful summer.

I can track my life by Prince, for a time. I'd love to have a new Prince album that would demand so much of my time. Wouldn't U?

Peace y'all...

Parade as a whole has gotten a ton of attention and replays since it's realease, and 17 Days can be put on repeat for days and I don't get tired of it.

And furthermore, Prince has been in my head almost every morning since his simulcast from LA.

Today it was the song Lovesexy. As I stood in the rain at the bus stop, the horns before the rap were playing perfectly in my head.

How many times have I heard this song, that I can recreate it in my head?

Grrrrr... what is it about this guy?

Overall, I listen to Prince cd's on repeat.

Most recently, ATWIAD was in my car cd player for weeks.

Now "Prince" is on...I can't get over "Sexy Dancer" and "Bambi" I've had it in the car cd player for weeks as well. (Haven't been driving the kids around much)

I wasn't listening to Prince when "Prince" came out and had never given it much time. Now I can't turn it off.

I didn't appreciate ATWIAD when it first came out. It took a LONG time to grow on me. I had to skip a lot of it during my ATWIAD binge as my kids were around and they're really starting to listen to Prince's lyrics.

In 1984-85 I listened to PR everyday... over and over riding the bus to and from school. The first song I ever listened to on a walkman (yes I realize I am totally showing my age) was "WDC" and I thought a mosquito was buzzing around my head. lol

When folks say "Prince is the soundtrack to my life," I know EXACTLY what they mean.
I'm firmly planted in denial

I've listened to Vicki Waiting, Paisley Park, and Call My Name easily a hundred times each... those songs just really hit a chord with me.

I listened to Chaos and Disorder for over a month straight when it first came out. I don't think it's one of his best, but it's one that I don't get tired of when I listen to it. It's such a diverse album, from the raw rock in the beginning, to the almost-bluesy with same december and zannalee, to the funk of i rock, to the absulotely beautiful into the light and i will (ok, had to go bust out the CD whilst typing this)

For a song that I'd put on repeat, Time Waits 4 No One. I used to put that song on repeat before going to bed every night. And then let it play all night long.
