My mother text me the bad news late last night. I had a Ray Charles album with me so i put on his version of J.Lennons Imagine. I just sat there crying throughout the song. I've never cried at the passing of somebody i never knew before. Rest in peace and thank you so much for the music. U will be truly missed and never forgotten. Ray Charles' death saddened me more than Reagan's.
Anybody think (hope?) that a Ray Charles cover will creep into the setlist for upcoming Musicology concerts? [This message was edited Fri Jun 11 6:38:47 2004 by jackflash] *****************************************

I bought this last year. Kinda made me sad to look at it last night. It sings America and What I Say. [This message was edited Fri Jun 11 10:15:42 2004 by NFO]

Prince did a few Ray Charles songs at the Lovesexy show from Pittsburg 88. Bad sound quality, but the piano sitdown is classic. All you others say Hell Yea!!

reverse order, actually. but he also wrote the "always Coca-Cola" jingle as well. btw, it was Diet Pepsi, just to be technical. don't think anyone's mentioned that. "Awards are like hemorrhoids. Sooner or later, every asshole gets one."

[This message was edited Fri Jun 11 6:38:47 2004 by jackflash] On the May 28th show in L.A., at the end of Dear Mr. Man during the acoustic set, he did Hit The Road Jack. It worked really well with that song. A little ironic now. RIP Ray Charles, you'll be missed. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Prince wrote "Uh Huh!" for Ray Charles for use in the Pepsi Light Commercials in 1991. Prince received $7 million for the song... It is on my very first boot called "Yellow". I like Prince's version very much. It's a really cool song when you hear it all the way through. ... [This message was edited Fri Jun 11 10:11:30 2004 by NFO] Great link...I have this on yellow too.
