Interactive Around 1994, I remember their being a promo on cable for what is now known as digital cable and the internet. The song on the promo was called 'Interactive' and was performed by Prince. I didn't understand it at the time and since I started coming to the org, I have seen 'Interactive' mentioned on several ocassions. Exactly what was that about?

Nope, that's not it. It was basically an informercial, but not in the sense of selling something. It showed how people would be able to interact with technology and be able to control their programming.

Aside from being licensed as a backing music for advertising/promotion, the song has featured in several Prince projects.
Prince hosted a party and performed at Paisley Park on February 13, 1994 - the set opening with 'Interactive' - and the resulting film, 'The Beautiful Experience' (with added bits building a storyline - of sorts - between the songs), was aired in Europe and beyond in April 1994. A CD-Rom called 'Interactive' was released on June 7, 1994. the CD-Rom was a game with puzzles and included music, videos, samples, etc., It icluded a video and audio track of the song, Interactive'. A longer version of the song was included on 'Crystal Ball' in 1998. . . . [This message was edited Thu Jun 10 9:58:14 2004 by langebleu] ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

If my memory serves me correct, this promo was not an advertisement for a Prince product. It was as if he was hired to do the song for the cable company to promote a new technology which is now know as digitally cable...being able create your own programming and select movies on demand.
