First time i heard it, i wasn't very impressed, but now I really like it. It's just a shame that it has to segue into If Eye Was... which I think is pretty shit

I think thats the best 8 minutes on the album. I love how The Marrying Kind goes into If Eye Was
Its really P at his best; rock, funk, jazz, psychedelic, pop, abstract & explicit & off the cuff. When I first heard the Marrying Kind-I thought "man, this is Prince...best cut on the album..." Then "If Eye..." came in ...whew. Hot bizness

I love them too--both real growers for me. In fact, it wasn't until I heard both parts on my Ipod shuffle that I realized how genius they both are. The definitely feel like yet another "new" sound for P, and that's always nice.

The entire cd is excellent, except for "life of the party", which is just so-so. I love all the rest!

Yes The Marrying Kind is my favorite and is way too short, I'd love to jam out to it a little longer.... Oh well there is always the back button.

duh?????duh

How can u lot put up with the hideous synth horns? They're shocking. Why didn't he just use live ones like on Mr Man etc.?

It's a weak track IMO

TMK is my favorite track on Musicology, hands down. I love it so very much. Sometimes I listen to this and IIWTMIYL back to back, but typically it's just track 8 over and over and over.

Yeah! Good point. I always think that when someone complains about his synth horn sections.

Definitely my fave track on the album. The production on the track is fantastic.

However, I was a bit disappointed to read that it may well be a rip off of another band's record. (Can't remember what, but there was someone posting this fact a few weeks back...)
