I know it's been mentioned before, but I was having a conversation with a friend about Prince not doing the splits anymore...

Is it due mainly because of his reported bad knees or the incident that took place a few years back where he injured his ankle on tour? Details anyone?

Dunno really. But he's taken to wearing trainers on stage so maybe all those years of jumping off pianos has taken its toll.

According to speculation and rumor, he's been having back problems hence why he doesn't dance and move like he use to. This could be true since he's wearing those MOON BOOT tennis shoes at Musicology shows now. Those high heels do NOT give him very much support. In the Kevin Smith DVD, he mentioned that Prince was complaining about a pain in his back(?) I believe. He's also suppose to have major surgery soon according to one source.

Well, from what I saw Saturday night, he was moving and jumping pretty good. Trainers and all!He was wearing heels and wedged footwear.

It had to happend one day. My chiropractor used to be the head of the local chiropractic association and as such he said he gets called down to big shows to work on artists that are playing in town. He's worked on EVERYBODY. Well OK, not Prince but he mentioned that he's worked lots of people (including KISS)!

Anyway, he said those physical artists (and Prince is definitely in that category) have bodies that are as beat up as a dancer or a boxer. They are basically athletes and the body just plain cannot absorb the pounding and abuse forever. It eventually wears out. He said they are a wreck.

Prince seems to have gotten to that point. Actually I've noticed him slowing down on stage (less splits and jumps) since at least '98 so I think he's been dealing with this for awhile. He's probably laster longer than most because he's so small and has generally taken good care of himself over the years.

But its all finite and there is a limit. Our boy is reaching his I believe.

Plus the fact, I'm sure after wearing those heels all of those years, Prince has probably got some serious hammer toes!

I've heard the rumors too, my only hope is that he doesn't get carried away, he's a compulsive worker, and end up worsening his problems for a little entertainment. The splits are cool but they ain't worth all that.
