I've been a Prince fan since I was 11 and I've taken a lot of shit from non Prince fans for liking someone who is often dismissed as being just too wierd. (well, here in the UK anyway).
Whenever I mention Prince to any non-fans I usually get a mixture of "Isn't he gay?", "You like that midget?" or "He's such a freak!"

Anyway, the reason I'm on here posting this is to ask what the wierdest rumour or "fact" about Prince you've heard from non-believers.
Here in the UK the most common 'fact' I've heard is that Prince took out one of his ribs so he could give himself a blow job. You'd be surprised how many people have told me this and usually its just about the only thing they know about him.

When I suggest this is complete bollocks they all swear blind that its definitely true and that they read it somewhere or saw it on TV or some other crap.

Anyone heard this rumour? Or anything else just as ridiculous?

I was in Vegas for the Tiger Jam and some dude in the audience was telling me that Prince had been married for 15 years and had two adopted Korean children. I kept telling him he was wrong and he claims to know the nanny. Whatever.

The one about him having a rib removed... well, I've heard a 1000 times here in Toronto...

This dude once told me that Purple Rain was written by Smokey Robinson... I told him otherwise and he told me to check the linear notes from Purple Rain the record!! That's when I gave up and said, "Yeah man, you're probaly right!"

I was also told that he was the writer behind all of the Backstreet Boys' material!!

i was on public transport in glasgow, 2 guy's got on and sat behind me , they started slagging of a friend of their friend's for being gay !, when one of the guy's said.....

Prince isnt gay. his name really is Prince. its Prince Rogers Nelson. Prince is married. Prince is a hall of fame musician. people who create rumors are idiots.they wouldnt want rumors spread around about them.Prince is not as wierd as people make him out to be.

I heard someone say the same thing about Marilen Manson. People are so stupid..I've had about 20 people tell me that his house is purple and "my uncle painted it." Why would Prince need to do all that when he has the badest honies doing it at will?

This guy at school insists that Prince is a cocaine addict "because his eyes are always bloodshot" and that he's an idiot, regardless of the fact that he plays over 2 dozen instruments. Oh yeah, and most of the people at school say he's a "gay, ugly freak" or say that "he looks like Michael Jackson's little brother." One time I showed an early picture of Prince to someone at the school and the guy said "Oh, he used to be black too."

Some people are just so ignorant.

Not really a 'rumor', but back in the mid 80's, I used to hear from so many people (mostly the heavy metal fans) that they hate Purple Rain because they like songs that end.
