Empty Room

Does anyone know which album empty room is off? was it a NPG release?

I have just listened to it, nice up beat track, love the guitar work!

It sounds like a 90's song but its not on any of the albums I've got?

Thanks

Hmmm, I wouldn't call it an upbeat track lol

The released version is live, (from ONA Tour Rehersals 2002 I think) from the "album" C-Note - available initially as a bonus download to NPGMC members in January 2003 - along with Xpectation.

There's also a version recorded in 1995 (a video was made, unreleased, but is circulating and was shown before shows on the 1995 Gold Tour).

There's also a version from 1992 from the I'll Do Anything sessions (I forget if this is a completely individual version, or an update - or '95 version is an update of this).

The original is from 1985, and the song's subject is Susannah.

Is it the 95 version? I've heard an empty room but I don't know what version I heard.

How do you tell what version you've heard?

Well the 1985 version isn't circulating I don't think, so that rules that out.

If you acquired it through non-official sources, it's most likely the 1995 version.

Pick up C-Note from the NPGMC Store, it's only $7 and if you like N.E.W.S. you should like that, even if you don't like NEWS (like myself), it's worth it for Empty Room.

It's from the pre-concert 'NPGMC soundcheck' on the ONA tour in Copenhagen - October 25, 2002.

The 1992 is the 'separate' recording.

The 1995 (or, perhaps, 1994) version was an update of the original from 1985.

i think your talking about the live 2002 version with the strong guitar work. I love this version. He made a normal song into one of the most emotional shivers down your spine songs ever. top five prince teary eyed, shivers song ever

LOVE Empty Room, and along with Same December and the original Zannalee. These are 3 of my fave Prince tracks. I still remember the videos from 1995 b4 the European tour concerts I attended.

The tracks are probably recorded in 1994 as langebleu previously stated.
