I think this is a fair bet since LABELS push what they want nominated, and obviously SONY will want to ride this wave into next year, Since the tour will be over at that point at least in the USA, so a real spark in the Sales would come from the Grammies adn nominations and another performance.

No, its a good album, but it's definitely NOT album or song of the year material. SOTT or PR are the 2 albums that he would have come closer to achieving that kind of status.

Well its not really about BEST anymore with the grammies, its about HYPE. Not that I dont think he is worthy of it, PRINCE on his worst days is better than everyone on their best. But the Grammies are about HYPE, I mean Carlos Santana supernatural??? He's recorded many great albums before that, but its not about that, its about NOW. Norah Jones, though I dig her, Didnt deserve album of the year, it should have BRUCE by a landslide. Even back in the day, SOTT should have won over U2 back in the 80's even u2 know that but they were riding a wave that year so they won. I do feel PRINCE will garner alot of Nominations this year, I think it will Reflect past OVERLOOKS of the Grammies of Prince. I mean Emancipation should have gotten at least ONE Nomination, but the CD was ignored because of the politics in the industry and the Pressure of Warner and the folding of EMI. Expect to see PRINCE in everything RB, and possibly Pop Male too.

lastdecember take the rose coloured glasses off, dude! Prince is a Genius, but "PRINCE on his worst days is better than everyone on their best" is a little extreme!! Really, that's a pathetic comment. So is "SOTT should have won over U2 back in the 80's even u2 know that but they were riding a wave that year so they won." - I admit it: Sign O the Times was an AMAZING album, maybe his best, but Joshua Tree wasn't too slack either. Let's face it, '87 had some great albums - those 2 were at the fore - but INXS' Kick, GM's Faith, MJ's Bad, Cure's Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me, TTD's Welcome To The World According To:, Midnight Oil's Deisel and Dust, GnR's Appetite For Destruction, Crowded House' debut and Sting's Nothing Like The Sun weren't exactly shite either!! - The fact that SOTT stands the test of time against other classics released the same years says plenty - but you have to respect the best of what else was going on - In the '80's, that year, '87, was maybe the pick of the bunch, and P proved to be the man - but let's not dismiss the others wholeheartedly... '87 twas a great year my friend, bow down...

cool I think the Grammies will acknowledge him. I do not think he will be the big nominee though. He will definitely get nominations in the r&b catergories. music

You never know, but I'd say he'll have a highlight performance and some nominations. Doubt he'll take home a bunch if any. Musicology isn't even the best thing he's done the last 10 years. Still, it is about who is hot and he is hot now, so who knows?

I think that the grammy's are still too establishment, and won't give P any dap.
