I'm actually surprised that gay dudes get into him so much...I think straight males are the majority of male Prince fans. He's a mans man...he definetly writes songs about the male experience (life).

With some of the posts I've seen on here, some fans seem more "so-called" straight than anything else. I've read some "questionable" comments from some proclaimed staright males...nonetheless...

why would this post be considered insulting?
i'm not insulted when people think i'm straight. i do think a lot of gay guys are into prince. perhaps just as may straight guys. are you sensing that many hetero guys may be embarrassed to admit that they're fans? prince's image is androgynous, even now that he's toned it down. obviously not men who post here, but it's easy to see why some ignorant guys would keep it under their hat. i see where you're coming from. | |

I think there are plenty of both straight and gay Prince fans. Of the straight Prince fans I think it may be typical that they're not usually real macho type guys but rather soft, sensitive types.
I'm generalising and joking here, but I think in general male Prince fans may be slightly more deficient in testosterone than say Motorhead fans. | |

Straight guy here, too.
I just found out a couple of weeks ago that a guy I used to work with a couple of years ago thought I was gay only because of the fact that I liked Prince music. I'm like, WTF is his problem??? I only have a wife and three kids.  Even though I never see him anymore, it still pisses me off.  NCC2012... your local Trekkie. =/\=

Hmmmmm I think that is the point of enjoying Prince - he transcends all of the labels. "Am I black or white am I straight or gay" more to life than labels - hence Rainbow Children - NPG - He is working toward acceptence for all.
