Is It True That Sign O The Times Just Went Platinum

If so, why? Do you think that is disappointing, aside from the songs and packaging?

Huh? I thought it went at LEAST single-platinum within a few months of its release?!

I think silverchild means 'only just' went platinum, rather than 'just' went platinum.

Or perhaps I'm wrong.

Nope.....I went to www.rockonthenet.com and it said it just went platinum and its highest chart number was #6.

Didn't see any info....

But was AMAZED at the top 50 albums of all time. There's some real stinkers on there...crap sells, I guess. No Madonna Albums???? I dunno I find that a little screwy.

Better question...maybe someone knows this...what P albums have gone platinum? Musicology is about to any moment.

but i think sign o the times sold about 500.000 copies becuse it is a double album, like emncipation (triple) that sold only 600.000 it went triple platinium, understand?.

I just called out a life-line to friend who knows this...

There are different measures for double and triple albums.

So platinum probably means that it broke the one million mark...though it was considered a platinum album to begin with.

Sign O The Times is a double album, that's true. But because its total time is less than 100 minutes, the RIAA did not count each CD like it did with Emacipation. So Sign O The Times is truly a PLATINUM album, and it went Platinum the year it was released in 1987.

I think it's entire play time is about 90 minutes.

I bought SOTT years ago and it had a little 'certified platinum' sticker on it then. confuse
