Maybe I should be more clear. Do ya'll think Prince's hair is straight b/c it's relaxed or pressed? I know he sported the fro back in the day and in his own words "straight hair ain't got no curl..." Just a thought.

Prince's hair is relaxed, blown dry and then curled with curling irons. Prince has black hair that gets relaxed like most black women. His best hair dresser was Earl Jones(Jill Jones uncle) and he stopped using his around the Diamond and Pearls era. His hair looks okay now, but it was at it's best from late 1983 to 1990.

That's a fact. Everyone who used to attend the Paisley shows from the front row as I did and anyone who has watched him regularly (especially in non-television moments) noticed that his hair was noticibly thinning and now he has the thickest hair on Earth. What happened?

Okay utill someone give me rock hard Proof that Prince is bald or balding or whatever. Then I have to call bullshit on this. I don't want to hear anymore of this "His hair looked like it was thinning at the Celebrations" crap either. I want solid proof, proof, proof. I can see as how people by now would assume that he would be balding. His father was bald, but that does not mean that Prince will go bald. Some of my unlces are bald and some are not. They all came from the same father who died with a full head of hair. You see what I mean?

Why is it so frightening or hard of an idea to accept that an almost 46 year old man might be balding or getting grey hairs? Why is the idea of either of those conditions possibly affecting Prince who is, contrary to what some deluded obsessives might think, a HUMAN MAN who is not above the effects of time and aging, so appalling to some?

If Prince is balding or going grey, BFD. He can buy some new hair or get the best hairdressers in the world to color his grey. Voila. Problem solved.

And with Prince's money he can certainly afford the top-of-the-line of both so that we, the fans and his public, would hopefully not be able to detect the needed upkeep.

I just don't get why some act like it's such a horrible thought or is out of the realm of possibility that a man of Prince's age might be balding or getting grey hair. It happens to most people. You get older, stuff falls apart or falls out. Whoop-de-doo.

Prince is still Prince no matter what: hair or no hair, grey hair or dyed hair. smile

While watching the 'Musicology' opener in the theater on a large screen, I swear I saw a little black mixed in with some sweat running down the side of his face. I think it was that 'head paint' stuff to cover up his balding. That or some sort of hair coloring.

First, Prince hair is relaxed.
Second, I don't believe that he wears a hairpiece.
Third, I do believe that he dyes his hair. Prince will be looking like Smokey Robinson does now...60+ with a head full of black hair.... lol lol

For me its not hard to accept that fact that he or anyone is going bald BFD, but I just think its bull for ppl to say he has extensions or paints his head. His hair look 100% real to me, and Ive seen some good weave jobs. PPL act like they know for sure hes losing his hair and they dont, they just assume so because of his age. When this so called extension falls out onstage or something then ill believe it.

yep, I saw that too. It was running down his left temple. I kept hoping he would reach up to wipe it away! I have also noticed in some recent photos that his sideburns have a grayish look to them. I am sure he has to have at least a few gray hairs in there by now. I am almost 33 and have PLENTY to cover up!

lol

I hardly think with the kind of money Prince has, and his concern with his appearance, he'd hire a hairdresser of such little ability that they'd put in an extension that could possibly FALL OUT!!!! Besides, people like Beyonce and Whitney and Cher are known wig/extension wearers, and I've never heard of of any of them having their wigs or extensions fall out onstage, see what I'm saying?

You say his hair looks 100% real to you, well: for one, I'm sure IF he had a wig or whatever, that natural look is what he'd be wanting, not some obvious rug and also, just out of curiousity, how many times have you seen Prince close up so as to really examine his hair (TV and magazine pictures don't count)?

Im not saying he is or isn't balding or greying but I haven't been close up enough to him for any length of time so as to really study his scalp, but some people who used to go out to Paisley Park on a regular basis said his hair looked thinning and they might have gotten a better view than most people.

What a goofy thread. biggrin

Damn, I thought I was the only one that saw that, given that I hvaen't seen it discussed here or on AMP. I thought it was wet hair at first, but it became obvious that it was some kind of black make-up/hair coloring/what have you running down the side of his forehead. I remember thinking, "damn...if he releases this on DVD he's sure to see this and cut this entire part out!"

It has turned into a goofy thread definately. The original Q had nothing to do with him going "bald" or anything like that. And I never said I thought he was going bald. I only said the whole weave falling out thing to be funny just like the rest of these silly accusations. I never even pay that much attention to his hair because its not like that Y im watching him in the 1st place. It really doesnt matter to me. But w/e.

In the "Live at the Aladdin" DVD, during the song "Strange Relationship" Prince is singing the song at the keyboard and he has lights coming up from behind him. I seriously couldn't believe that Prince let this into the DVD, because it was very obvious that he was extremely thin on top! I was like holy shit! Prince is letting the world see his baldness! It was a fun moment. wink

On a lighter note: it has been proven that bald men have higher sex drives because it is the excessive levels of testosterone that causes men's hair to fall out...so Prince and all you other bad-ass baldies can get on with your bad selves and wear your shiny tops with pride! biggrin

Also, I think his hair is pressed. I cite the inside of the For You CD jacket, I don't know what kind of 'fro he be sportin' in there, but it looks like the pressed and layered kind to me. lol
Strange, but I'm more comfortable around you naked.

His hair is so jet black that it has to be dyed. He probably had a fresh rinse/color job before the Musicology opener, and the remnants of that were what was running down his face. Sometimes it takes a few washings for that dye to stop dripping. lol

He's still beautiful though!
