Why didn't Prince tour the US for the Gold Experience?? A great album,with a great band. WHY did he not tour the US, he could of boosted album sales.

He could have also boosted the sale of "Exodus" with a tour.
Instead, he and the NPG played for me and my fellow Minnesotans out at Paisley Park a bunch of times. On second thought, I'm glad he didn't tour. NCC2012... your local Trekkie. =/\=

Here's another one....Prince chose to release "TMBGITW" about, oh, 18 months before the album came out. So while Prince had a big hit single, any hope of that hit translating to album sales was lost. The he chooses "I hate U" as a single, a ridiculous choice that flopped.
According to "Possessed", Prince did some overseas dates, but they largely flopped due to the fact that he was playing TGE material almost exclusively, which hurt ticket sales. Also, the book says Prince designed a very expensensive set, which he dropped midway through the tour as the shows were losing money. This could explain why he soured on touring behind the album. | |
