Dodgy artwork, particularly the perspective, on the covers.

Obvious fake discs on the PR shot.

The "Menu" scene on UTCM looks like a terrible photoshop job.

It is some stuff from the film with also Wendy and Susannah and the rest of the Revolution included in a similar get up. At the end of the clip, Prince says "Boo!", to which Jerome erupts in unstoppable laughter and tries to get the other members of the Revolution to laugh. It's quite funny.

i doubt they'd call attention to that line if it was all a joke/hoax on their part.

Sure it could be real.

But the persepctive on the UTCM cover proves its made up artwork. If anyone knows photoshop, its obvious thats how it was made.

No Melody Cool video? A releaseDvideo? But we get an unreleased video (Q Of U). Prince is obviously now working with warner....but wait! Only on one song!?

As for the call that the pics are housed on a major site!?!?!?

Sleezy G,...how often do you know anyone that goes to this site....and for what?!?! When you say it is a major DVD site, what over DVDs does it cover exactly?!?!?!?!?!?

Failing that, you're probably right. A website that has news and reviews for virtually every major dvd release for the past three years has gone out of its way to pull a hoax on Prince fans everywhere.

This could be a hoax, but during pre-release of CDs and DVDs, comp/mock-up artwork is provided to would be vendors to provide interest. It's used to guage pre-orders. I've mocked up CD and DVD covers using PhotoShop in the same perspective on occasion for clients. Also, the silly quote on the cover of GB is akin to a preliminary mock-up.

I'm sorry but the Question of U video on the GB dvd sounds fishy.

The fact the cover was probably done in photoshop proves nothing - what do you think the professionals use? Of course it's made-up artwork - but that's not to say professionals didn't make it up! Since Prince won't be helping Warners out with this, they have to use old photos from around the time just like bootleggers would!

As far as I can remember you're correct, he didn't start to use that version of the symbol (with the squiggly trumpety bit below the circle) until after GB, but he was using the previous incarnation of it - the composite male and female symbols (or adrogyny symbol as some people call it) without the squiggly trumpety bit. You are correct that this version of the symbol was not used until the album, but that the previous version was. Being that Prince didn't do the DVD menu himself, its not really all that surprising that someone put it in there though.

It won't fly off the shelves, but look at all the great remastered stuff Virgin (& now Columbia) have done with Bowie's catalog. There is alot of stuff that is fan only stuff that gets the full treatment. I'm saying if your going to do it. Do it right. Especially add that America video that really captures that time in Prince's career.
