Well here's the story: Prince needed to get back on the charts, so he went down to the crossroads and sold his soul to Larry (Satan). Yada yada yada... the rest is history. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

You guys trip me out. I don't really like Larry either. He doesn't seem to be close to the
musician Prince is. I know he's supposed to be a great bass player but heck Prince can play that also. I don't really see any reason for him to be around. Now he's got P in that JW cult. "Why'd I waste my kisses on you baby?" R.I.P. Prince You've finally found your way back home. Well Done.

You know Larry gets all the shit for introducing Prince to the JW, but from what I read his mother was one also and that was one of her dying requests. She wanted her son to convert. Also Prince got down with them when he was going through a very rough time in his life. I think that Larry should be commended, if he indeed did help Prince find some kind of balance through that very bad period in his life.
Also did you really want Prince running around like some sort of dumbass trying to act like he did when he was in his early twenties? God that would have been aweful. I love the new Prince but I was never a Prince fan just because of his racy lyrics and stage antics. While I enjoyed them and still do. I have always known he was deep cat (or dude for the ebonically impared) So to me at least I have no beef with LG. Peace THE CARDINAL HAS SPOKEN!!!

Peace actually, i thought it was george benson who originally talked to prince about JWs. then prince asked larry. so everybody should go hatin' on george benson, actually...

Larry Come on - let it go - Prince is an adult who makes choices in his life just like you and I do. We should respect his choices just like we would want our choices respected. Don't you think he thought about this decision before he made it? We give him credit for being a musical Genius - but we chose not to give him credit for being wise enough to make a decision regarding HIS choice of worship to God. Maybe if you took off that chastity belt you could breath a little mo betta.

Larry is to Prince, what Yoko was to John, what Don was to Mike and what George W is to america... just bad fuckin news

I think Larry got his claws into Prince when he was most vulnerable, after the death of child. Andy is a four letter word.

reading this thread, it seems that most of you dislike the idea of prince being close friends with larry.
let me ask u this...would you all rather him been with larry, or in a crackhouse shooting up? [This message was edited Sat Jun 5 18:22:21 2004 by missfee] I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

[This message was edited Sat Jun 5 18:22:21 2004 by missfee] in a crackhouse shooting up! him working with Larry never got us a Black Album, did it? "Awards are like hemorrhoids. Sooner or later, every asshole gets one."

Ditto, crackhouse - Have you ever heard John Lennon's Cold Turkey? Some of the best music comes from serious personal turmoil and some of the great artists have recorded their definative albums in a time pain, desperation and introspection. Maybe unfortunately he's been famous, rich and well-catered to since he was a teen. But wouldn't it be great to hear Prince, just once, go from the spoilt, often on a soap-box, wrapped in cotton-wool existence to making a raw, honest, devastating PlasticOno "i've-been-thru-the-ringer-but i'm-holding-on phase. It's the one thing that's always been missing from his catalogue - It would inevitably be a classic album and it would sure beat another New Power Soul or Musicology.
