Prince recording to be auctioned http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/h...791851.stm A tape of Prince's early recordings, dating back almost 30 years, are to go under the hammer at auction next week. The original two-inch master copy features a 17-year-old Prince playing lead and rhythm guitars on five tracks. The tape was recorded with Pepe Willie and the band 94 East at the Cookhouse Studios, Minneapolis in 1975. It will sold at Cooper Owen's Rock Legends auction in London on 16 June, along with other items from musicians including Elvis Presley and U2. +++++ Wow! I wonder how much this is going to get. Any UK fans gonna make a bid? "No, I'm not that mysterious. I'm a pretty open book. People who know my music, I would say know me." - Prince, Today Show 3/15/04 | |

Maybe "copperowenauctions" is offering it to the London live auction next week at the same time, to get more exposure. It looks like the ebay auction begins on the same date (June 16).
