WHAT A COMEBACK!!

DO U PEOPLE REALIZE all that has happened since that amazing Grammy performance? Not only does Prince still have a TOP 10 ALBUM 8 WEEKS AFTER RELEASE and a SOLD-OUT stellar arena tour happening which has been already predicted by some to be the OUTSTANDING AND BREAKOUT TOUR OF THE YEAR, but more importantly, Prince has validated his entire career and his persona. He has solidified his legacy as an immensely influential musical revolutionary, creative genius, performing virtuoso, and even business visionary.

Before, the general attitude used to be, "yea, he used to be popular but then he got too weird and full of himself and nobody has really heard from him in over 10 years. I wonder how he's doing...is he broke?" Now, the package being sold by the general media is a far more accurate one - one that sheds far more respect even for his "dark years" of fighting the establishment and attempting a new music business model. Some articles are even popping up that argue that maybe he had valid points after all.

This very public reminder of his greatness was so necessary for his lasting legacy. People had almost totally forgotten about this man's contribution by being totally distracted by his eccentricities. And what about the Rock Hall of Fame performances and induction speech! This man is making all the right moves and being validated in so many ways its unreal! I'm so happy to finally see some justice being served, both for him and for us diehard bastards. People are actually starting to forget about the past weirdness and actually see the greatness that lies underneath. Hell, people are actually beginning to think he's not that weird after all (thanks, Michael) lol

Couldn't have said it better myself.
This really has been an amazing year for Prince. I'm so happy for him and so glad he's alive and well and able to enjoy all the accolades.

I would like to add a prediction: One day, when humanity has progressed to being more tolerant and open-minded, and less judgmental, Prince will be regarded as a true symbol of freedom and way ahead of his time. wink

That post was right on point! While seeing Prince last week in L.A., I couldn't help but feel almost vindicated for sticking with this man even during the "lean" years. When my friend and I left the Staples Center, it was so weird seeing people outside trying to sell Prince T-shirts. If you told me that all of this would have happened, I would have laughed at you. This has been one of the best years ever as a fan! We should all be proud. biggrin biggrin biggrin
