What??!!! Joint 2 Joint is one of the tightest jams on Emancipation, period!!!! I hated his Sun, Moon, & Stars rap (that "Ja-fake-can" accent was absolutely dreadful), Jughead, 18 & Over, the shit in Love 2 The 9's ruins part of the song for me, The Flow, and Scrap D's shit on I Rock, Therefore I Am! I'm sure there are others, but my brain's on lockdown at this second. Examples of his rap styles/songs I actually dig are Days Of Wild, Now, Violet The Organ Grinder, Pope, how Tony M was used in Willing & Able and Sexy MF, Carmen's piece in The Continental, Acknowledge Me (sorry David), Lady Cab Driver, Irresistible Bitch, Housequake, The Latest Fashion (yeah, I said it), and though a couple mentioned this as something they hated, I actually find it funny and cool...Dead On It. I agree with this list...I really like Violet The Organ Grinder, Days Of Wild , Irressistible Bitch, Lady Cab Driver and Housequake, even 18&Over, but I wouldn´t really consider them RAP per se ....growing up in the 80s Hiphop was , besides some RnB and Prince, the only music I liked, so it´s even more difficult for me to hear P trying to rap. The sung version of 18&Over, ( he did this live a couple of times ) is fantastic, like the one he did aftershow 95 at the Paradiso/Amsterdam. Most of the time he ruins otherwise great songs by incorporating rap, like Live 4 Love, Love 2 the 9s, Acknowledge Me and the Max. Of course the result would be better with no rap at all or at least using decent, established rappers, but then again, I met Scrap D off the Emancipation CD and we had quite a long chat, and his own rap stuff is alright and not that bad at all, I even prefer DADADA over all Tony M songs...Call The law being the exception to the rule. I think P is just trying to give local rappers a chance to get heard instead of hiring some "hot " rapper like Busta Rhymes or something...which is cool. But then again, maybe he´s just to stingy to pay for decent rappers. Or he is really being a MPLS patriot using local rappers. Anyway, he should stay away from rap. I love rap, and I love purple music, but they just don´t mix well. And DADADA is NOT the worst P rap song.Scrap is really nice as a person and much better than Tony M. The bottom line is he's just never really been interested in it. Good or bad, and I've never been into Prince rap, he realised that "Rap" is for rappers... we all learned to rhyme when we were preschoolers. For a brief time, when he was divorcing himself from the record company, he thought he could do it better than the rap artists, but probably was so bored he gave it up. Thank you, Prince!

Gold Nigga. The whole album, nearly every track full of Tony M's hideous rapping.

I cite this as more "tongue in cheek" than Prince "rapping". Like Meloh9 said I think "Funky Design" is one of the worst if not "the worst" attempt at rap. Prince thought he was Rakim for a minute.
