OMG have you seen Prince's European male fan base? They are the straighest males ever. Just look at the Housequake picture gallery.
I mean you would think Europeans are a bit more ambiguous (Gay or Eurotrash anyone remember that?) but those cats are STRAIGHT and WHITE. They are also terribly unfunky except for their love of Prince But we all have our faults

i have to disagree with you about hip hop music. there are a lot of great hip hop artists out there. and some of the music sounds better than some of Prince's music.and no they would not have been booed off the stage in the 80's. by the way i am a 45 year old straight female. [/quote]
First of all, hip hop is not music, it is sampled parts of old songs slooowwd down and mixed over a cheap, weak beat. If you don't play instruments and you don't sing but you can mix a record over a beat and "talk" in rhyme, that makes you a DJ, not a musician. Back in the day when hip hop first started, it was actually good. For instance: "Planet Rock", "Pack Jam", "Flamethrower Rap", "Egypt, Egypt", "The Party Has Begun", "Jam The Box", etc. If you, my dear, listened to hip hop in the 80s, some records were sampled but the majority were not. The tempo was much faster so it took talent to rap over it. Listen to "Flamethrower Rap", it is practically a tongue twister. The version of "Planet Rock" that was most popular was the nine minute instrumental so that let's you know the music was kicking. The tempo of today's hip hop is much slower. It's so slow that they have to sample old SLOW songs and they still have to slow the tempo down on the record..."Between The Sheets" for example. That was a slow jam back in the day and nowadays they try to turn it into something for dance floor. As far as concerts go, black concerts back in the day were dominated by funk groups like Rick James, Midnight Star, Roger & Zapp, The Dazz Band, The Barkays, Lakeside, Con-Funk-Shun, Klyymax, Cameo, Bill Summers & Summers Heat...shall I go on. If you happened to listen to black music back in the day (by the way Prince was only played on black radio back then) you will notice the tempo is much faster and the people came to the concert to dance and party, not to fight and throw gang signs. So comparing the tempo of the music of the 80s and the tempo of the "talk" of today, yes they not only would have been booed off the stage but would have had eggs thrown at them on the way off the stage. Hip hop would have never made it as far as it has if WHITE teenagers had not jumped on the bandwagon. Black people have always been trend setters and have always moved on to the next phase. Too many radio stations nowadays are owned the same big corporations that dictate what is played. Hip hop costs nothing for record companies to make (no instruments or musicians to pay). MTV also beats it to death. That's why hip hop won't die. Next time know what you're talking about. Andy is a four letter word.

You know...that is such blah!!
Even gay men were str8 men who dug Prince at some point in their life. (unless they were already out when Prince released his first album) _________________________________________

Straight: check
Male: check Prince Fan: double check Because of the boring answer i'll spice it up a bit with the notion that gay fans are more agressively gay (to quote a famous orger) than straight fans are "agressively straight". What's up with that? "It's better 2 B hated 4 what U R than 2 B loved 4 what U R not."

Here is a fact Sad but True....Macho Type Tough guys Basically like Rap nowadays. They also go for Metal and Classic Rock. Sorry that Prince get's Laughed at as FLUFF. Girls always Really Dug On Prince so his whole Act Really Turned the Girl's On. The Black Guys Dug the Music. Alot of White Guys were Embarassed because they were Called Gay for Liking an EFFEMINATE looking guy. The sick thing and I really think Prince just get's dissed forever cause of his Height. I Swear if he was Taller and Dressed the same way people would just go Freaky right .. However he was a Cute Looking Young Man kinda short and wearing Girly clothes so Right Away he's gay. Now the Kicker is that Nobody could get over THE CLOTHES to LISTEN to The BRILLIANCE that is PRINCE. The Showman. The Master Guitar Playing . The Piano Perfection. Maybe he wasn't given his Due Props cause people didn't take him as a SERIOUS MAN. Isn't it a PITY that Such a REBEL as PRINCE had To SUCCUMB to SOCIETIES RULES in ORDER to GAIN and RECEIVE RESPECT. If Only People in the Industry Could have Cared Like the Fans did. If Only Non-Fans weren't so Damned BIASED. Oh, if Only ...If Only ....A Perfect World....Wouldn't it all be SWEET??? IMAGINE??? { And Just Look At What Some PSYCHO did To a Man Of PEACE!} Such Evil I Cannot Even Fathom as My Idealism just well I when I see the Ugly of Human Beings makes me Very Disappointed and Sad. Very Sad if we Cannot be What we were Deemed Born to Be. Perfect Beings made in Christ's Image. I can Only Hope ....9-11 the worst Tragedy Ever and we ask ??? Where is the Justice ??? Why the Innocent? War Sucks !!!! We Don't Need To Fight and Kill.....As Lennon said ...Give Peace A Chance.....I really am into John and Yoko.... Peace....
