OMG have you seen Prince's European male fan base? They are the straighest males ever. Just look at the Housequake picture gallery.

I mean you would think Europeans are a bit more ambiguous (Gay or Eurotrash anyone remember that?) but those cats are STRAIGHT and WHITE.

They are also terribly unfunky except for their love of Prince But we all have our faults

As far as concerts go, black concerts back in the day were dominated by funk groups like Rick James, Midnight Star, Roger & Zapp, The Dazz Band, The Barkays, Lakeside, Con-Funk-Shun, Klyymax, Cameo, Bill Summers & Summers Heat...shall I go on. If you happened to listen to black music back in the day (by the way Prince was only played on black radio back then) you will notice the tempo is much faster and the people came to the concert to dance and party, not to fight and throw gang signs. So comparing the tempo of the music of the 80s and the tempo of the "talk" of today, yes they not only would have been booed off the stage but would have had eggs thrown at them on the way off the stage.

Hip hop would have never made it as far as it has if WHITE teenagers had not jumped on the bandwagon. Black people have always been trend setters and have always moved on to the next phase. Too many radio stations nowadays are owned the same big corporations that dictate what is played. Hip hop costs nothing for record companies to make (no instruments or musicians to pay). MTV also beats it to death. That's why hip hop won't die.
