Favorite Unreleased Tracks

I don't really have access to bootlegs which is a good thing I guess since they are illegal but

I have managed to come up with some single tracks that are unreleased. These are the ones

i've heard:

1. Empty Room

2. Xtralovable

3. MoonBeam Levels

4. R U Horny?

5. 69 Positions

6. Jus My Imagination (Live in Concert)

7. If I had a Harem

I suppose thats it. Out of these my faves would be :

If EYE had a Harem, Jus my Imagination, MoonBeam Levels, Xtraloveable.

What are you guys' fav unreleased tracks??

I have heard BJB the extended version. I love the long Horn solo on the end.

The reason I didn't list it is because I didn't know if it had been released or not.

Haven't heard the others besides the ones I have already listed

except for Wonderful Ass and it is great also.

Funny how whenever we get one of these 'favorite outtake' lists, half the tracks people list are NOT actually 'unreleased' (ie. they always include tracks that WERE released by associated artists or NPGMC tracks).
These should really be classed as 'alternate versions' or 'prince's demos'.

You make it sound like prince recorded those "Prince's demos" knowing they're gonna be released by an associated artist .... that isn't the case. They're recorded as real Prince songs ... later on they get fucked by an associate ....

For example:
"Wouldn't You Love To Love Me?" is a perfect Prince song ... which is used lots of years later for Taja's album. But to me it's one of the greatest unreleased tracks.

A lot of the time he DID know. Plus over 90% of all those associated artist releases ARE the
Prince version, only with someone else replacing his vocals.

Sorry, but my most favorite unreleased track is the original version of Old Friends for Sale.

Still can't understand why he re-wrote the lyrics for this one. Just purely and unjustified "RAPE" of a song.

Seeing people constantly list the original we can funk makes me think I might've heard it.

I have heard a diff version than the weak watered down one on Graffiti Bridge and it is much

funkier and rawer than the one on the Graffiti Bridge record.

I used to have a tape now that I think about it that I had recorded from something My bro.

had once that must've been some kind of boot now that I think about it because I used

to listen to my dub of it all the time. It was very low sound and fuzzy but clear enough to

make it out and it had the Crystal Ball version of Crystal Ball on it but also Witness for

the Prosecution, Prince doing Data Bank, a version of him doing the Jill Jones messed up

All Day All Nite and maybe one more of hers I can't remember but also she wants a place

in heaven on there. I don't know what happened to that tape. I probably wore it out but

never got to make another copy because all my bros Prince stuff got stolen when he went

back to college next time. He had all kinds of 12 inches and everything and all got ripped.

Thats how I first was introduced to Prince after hearing Purple Rain I used to just listen to

all his stuff but once that happened it was no P for awhile till I got old enough to get a

Pioneer 5 cartridge disc changer that you load them into and bought Sign O the Times,

Purple Rain, and 1999. I don't know what else I had but that was the beginning.

Been a fan ever since.

If this is an official release i've never seen it on sale anywhere. Where would I buy it?

The performance at Westfalenhalle, Dortmund, West Germany on September 9, 1988 concluded the European leg of the Lovesexy tour. It was filmed by a professional crew and broadcast live to several European countries.

The show was later released on 2 videos with the first half of the show on 'Lovesexy 2', and the second half of the show on 'Lovesexy 1'. It was released in Europe but is no longer commercially available in retail.
.
There is an unreleased studio outtake version of this song circulating - the arrangement is different to the version featured on the show. there is, however, another version of the song circulating bearing a closer similarity to the released video version and it is a fake.

Yeah, there's that possibility, but the list of circulating fakes and recognised official unreleased outtakes is relatively well known.

By way of example, the song 'R U Horny' by Seamore Funk has historically been mistaken for a Prince unreleased song - put 'Seamore' in the prince.org search engine and you'll find that to be the case, or go to www.google.groups.com and search under "alt.music.prince+seamore".

Or check out Uptown's publications to see whether 'R U Horny' or '69 Positions' are considered Prince releases.

Or, to hear 'R U Horny' by Seamore Funk, go to:

http://tofuhut.racknine.n...0Horny.mp3

The link looks a bit screwed up, so if it fails try:

http://tofuhut.blogspot.c...chive.html

then Ctrl+F and search against "Seamore" and click on the link for a 55 second sample.

U got me on that one. That's not Prince. Its funky as hell though. Too bad he didn't

come up with it. Thanks for the correction I don't wanna give out bad or misleading info.

Far as 69 positions I don't have it anymore but you're probably right on that also.
