What Prince song sounds most like "Roses?" I'm trying to find some Prince songs to mix into and outof Outkast's "Roses" I found Sly Stone's "If You Want ME to Stay" fairly similar including a piano intro, but what Prince songs might work? I'm thinking the Camille voice maybe.. Love or Money maybe.. ______________________________________________

Try Starfish and Coffee. It might mix well with Roses.

Ok, I think it sounds like Raspberry baret, + the background vocals of Roses remind of the background vocals of "If I was your girlfriend"

I don't think it sounds like a Prince song either, my response was to this statement: "I'm trying to find some Prince songs to mix into and out of Outkast's "Roses"
I think S & C could mix well in & out of "Roses" because of bpm & basic sound composition (drums & piano being prominent). Because S & C is very sparse musically, if sped up a little it could lay right over an instrumental of "Roses", although I don't think the reverse would work. The "Roses" beat is close to "Push" but the overall sounds of the records wouldn't mix well.

I used 2 really like Outkast, but come on, they are starting 2 sound more and more like Prince, i think they need 2 make their own original music, instead of copying sum1's else's Keenmeister

Try Kiss.
I've always found Kiss to be very versatile - because it's quite sparse it's very easy to chop up, and tempo changes don't screw it up too much either. I've mixed it (on various different mixes) with Raspberry Beret, When Doves Cry, Pop Life, Solo, Come, Girls and Boys, Not Fade Away - Buddy Holly, The Pretty Things Are Going To Hell - David Bowie, Young Americans - David Bowie, Good Guys in the Wrong - Bob Geldof, and bits of Carmina Burana - Carl Orff. Whether or not it would mix well into Roses I couldn't say without trying it but I think it would be worth having a go. Lemmy, Bowie, Prince, Leonard. RIP.

They are not trying to. The are just making music. Besides, everyone has gotten a piece from someone else. Think of it as them trying to inject life into a dying art form. As far as original goes, they are one of the most original groups out there. "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

I sure people might disagree, but when I first heard Roses it reminded of Dolphin 4 some reason. Muscially, not lyrically.
