Both are perfect songs the way the are. The fact that Venus de Milo leaves you wanting more, means it's NOT too long and should stay that length.
But Alexa de Paris edges Venus out.  "So strange that no one stayed at the end of the Parade..." - Wendy & Lisa's "Song About" on their 1987 self-titled album.

Venus de Milo is a beautiful. I couldn't believe that P could write something so beautiful. When I would play it for people, they wouldn't believe that it was Prince.
Neverthess..... Alexa is the muthafunkin jam.....  Prince at his most brilliant. That song is just SICK in the best way.**************************************************

Alexa de Paris. Especially the long version.
Venus de Milo is so much shorter so it doesn't stick the same way. However it ends the first side of Parade perfectly  if you've gotta pay for things that you've done wrong I've gotta big bill coming at the end of the day- Gil Scott Heron

Both are nice. Venus de Milo is short but its good for thinking, and Alexa de Paris is excellent for dancing, a la Christopher and Mary. | |
