Prince's New fan base Prince seems to making new fans with this cd giveaway at the concerts..people who already have the album are giving them away to friends who are non fans and they are giving them to their friends and so on... this is just a brilliant move on Prince's part..after all is said and done Prince could have between 3 to 5 million albums out there..and despite what you hear from hardcore fans on this site the general public is really digging Musicology(just read all the good comments on amazon.com) and i think whatever cd he releases next year..its going to be huge just based on all the new fans he's recruited from this album which is really amazing considering artists his age usually start losing their fanbase & not gain new ones! i certainly hope thats the way it's working for everyone else- i gave my friend a copy of musicology and while he did listen to it once, in the end he ended up reaffirming his official postion of "you ARE a crazy Prince fan".  | |

My brother went to the Iowa concert with me in March.
He popped his Musicology CD in his glove compartment afterwards. It is still there. He has not listened to it once. I'm not sure how many new fans Prince is really getting with these giveaways | |

Yeah, they may be selling them on eBay, but at least they've already paid for them via their concert tickets. I can understand why a person attending many concert dates wouldn't feel a need to have THAT many copies of the concert version of the album, can't U?

I think they had become quite comfortable counting Prince out as a 'has been' now that he has proven that myth wrong they really have no where to go. That is why they spend so much time hating on Musicology. Everyone I know that has this album loves it. Prince has scored so big this time around that it is truly amazing. Still some people just want to hate and they come to this site to do it. I however could not be happier with Prince. Peace THE CARDINAL HAS SPOKEN!!! | |
