download and internet sales

Does anyone have a number for the download and internet sales so far? How many albums were sold on the website before they hit retail?

yeah id love to know this too! i know in the first couple of weeks the NPGMC had 6 figures of sales. but whether thats 6 figures ie made over $100k, or actually sold over 100k, is another thing. i reckon it would have been over 100k if the membership is over 400k anyway, i mean, its just 25% buying magnificent.

i reckon you could add at least 50k sales of musicology onto the sales at the moment.

I'd like to know how well anything besides Musicology is doing.

you mean prince albums? there was a thread on it. the week musicology came out NEWS was in the top 150 on amazon in the US, but didnt sell enough to chart anywhere, so probably didnt do that many outside of amazon, and seeing as i dont know of a way to know how many cds amazon sells i dont know what top 150 means.

purple rain sold about 6k that week and has been doing similar numbers since
hits 1 and 2 seem to be doing about 1.5k a week but thats dropped off (i think!)
plus the vault has been number one on billboard pop catalogue charts since about 2 weeks before musicology came out, adn thr week it came out i think the VBO did aounrd 20k, but it might be 40k cos i think it was going to be top40 but cos of the chart rules it couldnt (it was over 2 years old). since then its been doing around 10k a week minimum, probably alot more, maybe around 20k(?) to stay number one on the pop catalogue charts.
