BorisFishpaw said: I guess this is pretty embarasing for me - but what album are we talking about here? The remixed version of Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic that Prince released through NPGMC. It had the following tracklist, and a lot of people (myself included) think that it is a lot better than the regular version. 1. Rave In2 The Joy Fantastic 2. Undisputed (The Moneyopolis Mix) 3. The Greatest Romance Ever Sold (Extended Version) 4. Hot Wit U (Nasty Girl Remix) 5. Tangerine (Extended Version) 6. So Far, So Pleased 7. The Sun, The Moon And Stars 8. Man'O'War (Remix) 9. Eye Love U, But Eye Don't Trust U Anymore 10. Beautiful Strange 11. Silly Game 12. Wherever U Go, Whatever U Do 13. Prettyman (Extended Version) [This message was edited Sun May 30 13:59:43 2004 by BorisFishpaw] sorry Borris, but this is wrong. between Man O War and I love U... is the extended version of Baby Knows, minus Sherryl Crow, and Prettyman is the same version from Rave Un2, not extended. this message brought to you by logic.

I for one would count all NPG albums as part of the Prince catalog. let's be honest, semantics aside, Prince is the NPG, not the band members. that's why the band remains the NPG despite the fact that it is always changing. NPG is simply an extension of Prince. this message brought to you by logic.

I have it. Sexy MF is a hoot. Look for a hole punched in the barcode on the back and no Parental Warning logo. It was promo only I believe, so it will be in the used bins. Grrr. I have had to buy this a few times just to get the unclean version. Used bins or not...sometimes they can have the sticker, but be clean. Sexy MF isnt a hoot when you aren't wanting to hear it as Sexy Muther Owah! Christian Zombie Vampires

I don't have any vinyl. I also don't have a plethora of different versions of albums simply with foreign writing but identical songs on them. Why buy two version of For You when you could simply have one and buy a different album by Prince or by another artist? There's far too much music out there that we're all missing out on. I'm starting to realise how terrible it is that I've stopped exploring new music so much. Nobody has enough money to buy all the music they might dig, so for me this completist thing can all go a little too far. But, whatever floats your boat I guess. I also don't have any gold discs. That's pretty cool - something to be proud of and must look damn good on the wall. But alternate versions? Why bother? Seems like a bit of a waste of money to me. To me it's not the physical material possession that's as important as the actual music. I'd be grateful just to have heard great music and enjoyed it, yet for some it seems to be extremely important just to HAVE these things and sit and look at them. That's ok. Everybody has a vice. oh I hear ya... and YES Music is my Vice or my fix so to speak. The magic is not so much in having, its in the seaching; I just love going to record fairs and meeting ppl who love 2 share their experiences. (You would be surprised by how many Led Zep, Beatles and RollingStones nuts actually respect Prince.) Besides there is so knowlege that can be gained in collecting. and Yes the Gold and other Picture discs do look great and are the holy grail of record collectors, so if U find any, by all means do what U can 2 acquire them. As for the alternate (foreign) verions, so many have been packaged differently in different continets, different photos/art-work, some come with posters and in some cases have different tracks. but in the end the music is what matters most. -"If U don't like,
what U see here -get the FUNK out."

Symbol had a preprinted Parental Warning logo on the "filthy" version's booklet. The case actually had the screen-printed Symbol and no sticker. Any sticker would be the result of someone putting the "clean" version in a stickered jewel case (maybe so they could have better luck selling it). All the work that we have to go through just for our beloved curse-words. . Oops, I missed off Baby Knows! (how embarassing). But Prettyman IS a longer version than on Rave Un2. Here's the (correct) tracklist again with timings... 1. Rave In2 The Joy Fantastic (5:13) 2. Undisputed (The Moneyopolis Mix) (5:45) 3. The Greatest Romance Ever Sold (Extended Version) (8:07) 4. Hot Wit U (Nasty Girl Remix) (4:22) 5. Tangerine (Extended Version) (2:13) 6. So Far, So Pleased (3:24) 7. The Sun, The Moon And Stars (5:17) 8. Man'O'War (Remix) (5:12) 9. Baby Knows (Extended Version) (3:52) 10. Eye Love U, But Eye Don't Trust U Anymore (3:33) 11. Beautiful Strange (4:55) 12. Silly Game (3:29) 13. Wherever U Go, Whatever U Do (3:15) 14. Prettyman (Extended Version) (5:35)

The Time, What Time Is It?, Ice Cream Castles, Vanity 6, Apollonia 6, The Glamorous Life, Romance 1600, the Family, Jill Jones, 8, 16, Time Waits For No One, Times Squared, Carmen Electra, Children of The Sun, Kama Sutra, Come 2 My House & GCS2000 should b considered Prince albums as well (or at least "Prince WITH Someone" albums), since he completely conceived, composed & recorded them. I never understood why fans make a difference between these records & the "prince" ones.
