Funny u should ask if we would rebuy. A couple of years ago my whole collection was stolen. I replaced everyone so far except the bootlegs and For You which I'll probably get soon.

Funny u should mention this. Also a couple of years ago back n Maryland I bought the whole collection from some guy 4 only a few $$. The only problem it has the name "Tom" written all over this stuff. Who the hell is Tom?

Doesn't Xpectation also count as a Prince album? It may not have been released physically as a CD but it was released officially all the same.

Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Well at the beginning I only meant stuff that the general public could go to the store and

buy so everyone would have basically the same opportunity to own everything.

Someone however did list One Nite Alone which to my knowledge i've only ever seen online.

I didn't even know it existed until I did a Prince search on Amazon.
"Why'd I waste my kisses on you baby?" R.I.P. Prince You've finally found your way back home. Well Done.

I mean from 4u all the way through to Musicology, through the name change and all.

For those of you who do would you rebuy all of them if something happened to some of

them or are there certain ones where you would say oh well.

Got 'em all. Held off on "Very Best of" and "N.E.W.S." for a short time though...

I would definitely re-buy the lot of them if they just improved the sonics on all of them...

I have all the albums that were released on CD, plus the singles for "The Most Beautiful Girl in the World" and "New Power Generation" and The Scandalous Sex Suite (the latter two were available at my local Best Buy recently for whatever reason). Next time I have some extra cash around, I'm going to pick up the stuff available from NPGMC.

I'd like 2 think I have it all, but every just so often I come accross something limited or exclusive. I've got every album and single plus some of the alternate releases out of Europe or Japan. On the other hand, I have a bit of catching up to do on vinyl -especially 90's releases.

Yes, I would replace everything, xcept for some of the boots.

In fact I recomend it to any new fan to go and start Ur collection.
I also collect Hendrix material, and I'm constantly amazed with what I find.
I can imagine what it would be like for someone who embarks on a journey of discovery of Prince. There is so much out there.

Well, I have all the officially released albums and quite a bit of unreleased stuff.

I don't have any vinyl.

I also don't have a plethora of different versions of albums simply with foreign writing but identical songs on them.

Why buy two version of For You when you could simply have one and buy a different album by Prince or by another artist? There's far too much music out there that we're all missing out on. I'm starting to realise how terrible it is that I've stopped exploring new music so much.

Nobody has enough money to buy all the music they might dig, so for me this completist thing can all go a little too far. But, whatever floats your boat I guess.

I also don't have any gold discs. That's pretty cool - something to be proud of and must look damn good on the wall. But alternate versions? Why bother? Seems like a bit of a waste of money to me.

To me it's not the physical material possession that's as important as the actual music. I'd be grateful just to have heard great music and enjoyed it, yet for some it seems to be extremely important just to HAVE these things and sit and look at them. smile

That's ok. Everybody has a vice.

Yeah, that happens sometimes. U'll hear someone say something and as Prince is so prolific there's invariably a song lyric of something similar.

I did set that one up of course. big grin

What?! No 8-Track? Only ONE version of the US Vinyl?...Is it the original release with the insert and the "palm tree" label? What about the reissues with the generic labels (with the different positioning of the titles and copyrights)? How about the record club versions?

If need be, I may be willing to trade my extra 8-track...though I've been saving it in case my original breaks while playing it in the car...

I got all Prince CDs from For U to Musicology.

All 12 inch singles back to Let's Pretend We're Married/Irresistable Bitch.

The essential Bootlegs Black,Small Club, the 94 stuff.

I would gladly buy all of the released stuff again if it was re-mastered.

I have it. Sexy MF is a hoot. Look for a hole punched in the barcode on the back and no Parental Warning logo. It was promo only I believe, so it will be in the used bins.

Ooh - what about that strange Japanese mini-album which contained 6 tracks from "For You"?

I'm not sure if this is an official Warners release though.
