Prince is making $ with the cd and tour. Sony is getting a piece of the pie and Concert west.
However, I feel WB will get a nibble due to the obvious fact that so many(the youth of the world) have not been exposed to Prince. They will talk to us Prince "older" fams and go out and buy his material that he made in the early years.

This is a true masterstroke!! And the power remains with the artist! I Know WB must be upset but what about EMI? They could of done with the dosh!

Forget about EMI. Think of EWM. I bet he's a little upset.

Upset? You really think I'd devote that much emotion into what Prince does? evillol

Believe me, I'm not upset. It was a smart business move, that's it. What I'd like to know is how much play these concert copies of Musicology will get by all who got stuck with them.

$100 million! Holy crap...I hope Prince doesn't get lazy with that much cash in his pocket...I doubt he will though.

I wonder how much of it goes to the Jehovah's Witnesses organization?? Do they tithe??

No. The work of JWs is supported by voluntary donations.

Yes they do bcuz u always want 2 try and keep your ICONS on the label. It's just like a professional sports team losing a superstar. Ask the Boston Redsox about trading Babe Ruth. If the label gets a bad rep 4 not treating it's Artists fairly then other labels get the upper hand in the bidding wars 4 new acts. WB won't b seen as the label 2 sign with bcuz if they treat a legend like crap then hey they loose in the long run!

If you only had a clue... It seems you haven't been keeping track on what has happened...
WB did treat Prince fairly and not like crap... It's not like he's pulling 'em in like back in the '80's, Prince isn't the cashcow he ones was... And if Prince is big now WB is gonna profit from it, so believe me they couldn't give two shits about Prince and his so so selling "Musicology" crap since WB is selling more VBOP CD's or any other old record, so I don't get where you people see they have to be upset about anything cos in the end WB just sells more and that brings them a big smile on their face... Prince on the other hand...

Looking at that little bit, you've got to take into account the whole statement: "Prince saw Celine's show, saw how we operate, and he seemed to be very impressed with that," smile

I don't think they are upset but weary of the new P bcuz if the public likes the new and less controversial P more than the old P then they won't b able 2 move as many units. Remember we are talking about a new generation vibing on this Prince and not the Purple Rain Prince. And i don't know how u define pulling them in like he in the 80's and not hte cashcow he 1nce was? What movie u watchin fool. P is about 2 gross more$$$ than any tour since PR. And as of right now Musicology is out selling VBOP with retail sales alone. WB will get paid but P will have the more successful year between the 2 as far as selling P's work owned and not-owned. NPGMC is killin on downloads.

They're not weary... Prince's old stuff (1999, Purple Rain) will always be their/his bestseller since he's forever doomed to be known for "Purple Rain" than for things like "The Rainbow Children" or "Musicology", in 5 years people will still be buying "Purple Rain" instead of "Musicology" which they've all forgotten by then...
WB doesn't give a shit or worry about his current success, they're not losing money they're just making it... Who do you think is gonna profit from the upcoming DVD sales?

That's called doing some work and promoting yourself...
He's doing a nostalgia act/show, have you seen the show?
He even labelled it a Greatest Hits Show...

Impressive... One good year in a string of horrible ones...
