Brothers and sisters...I haven't talked on these forums as of yet and I dont visit many price fam sites. But i've been following the purple one since he blew my mind back in 82 when my parents got me 1999 ..and I dont follow prince around to concerts and events like a deadhead, although I respect anyone who does. Everything I've been given musically from prince and attidude is inside of me.. I have become " Revolutionary Rock n Roll " inside of me in my dress, walk, talk and mind...there was a time where I had ever Prince gadjet, keychain, book... bootleg after bootleg...there wasn't anything I didn't have...but I'm 33 now and I've realized its whats in my heart, not my grab bag of goodies..

I remember spending the night in a parking lot back in 88 getting lovesexy tickets and getting good seats. Those were the days... but after 88 something happend to prince..many of us know it... we can't verbalize it..but we know it happend. He started following instead of leading.. the rap music he made fun of in the black album he started trying to do himself..(be true to oneself!!) ...I always thought that diamonds and pearls was a big mistake, except for a few good bside type songs..(money dont matter)...Diamonds and pearls was a commercial success..but at what price??

Friends, the 90's was hard on prince on many levels....the name change... warner bros...mayte'...(sorry if I mispelled)....but there was a peak...The Gold Experience to me was very good...and I enjoyed it very much...the song writing was " Gritty " again and not so mainsteam...any true prince fam will admit that emancipation was a disapointment. But then the rainbow children came along and now we have musicology!

My take on this new prince craze..is that Prince is back....focused, himself finally...no clutter and ready to be prince regardless of who says what or cares. Its amazing when your writing songs when you have no fears and anything in your mind trying to keep you from yourself...sometimes it takes a bad experince or two to find yourself and be true to yourself and just be who you are. Because when it comes to Prince, no one ever wanted anything more from him, other than he just be himself.... rudeboy...peach and black...funky....wild...shine his best and never get bored...(yes took that from 1999)...

So I said my peace... Prince is great...I love his music...watching him playing guitar is a joy...his music has meant many things to me... back in my teens he was a hiding place for an insecure boy(me)...i remember skipping school just so I could go home and listen to purple rain when it first came out..somehow I identified with his music..it made sence to me....the words...attidude...I became a purple one myself...and when those posers stopped listening to prince after around the world in a day..I was still there..rocking to parade... sign o the times...lovesexy..etc....I was there...and I'm sure glad I was a part of the greatest music talent in the world....
