A question about one night alone?

after getting into prince over the last year or so. I have found his music mind blowing, although ive read in various places that you aint seen/heard nothing till you c/hear him live.

My question then is i want to purshcase one night alone but theres a 3 disc and a 4 disc version the main problem is the price of the 4 disc 1.

Whats on it?
is it good?
is it worth the extra cash?

any other useful info would be appreciated cheers folks biggrin

The 3 CD set is called "One Nite Alone ... Live!" and comprises a double CD of Prince and the NPG on tour during 2002. The third disc is called 'It Ain't Over' and features aftershow performances of Prince and the NPG, with various guests. they were made available as part of the NPGMC year 2 membership.

NPGMC members also received an additional disc, 'One Nite Alone' in the boxed set. This is a studio album of Prince songs (and his cover of Joni Mitchell's 'A Case Of You') with performance almost exclusively featuring Prince on piano.

The album had also been sent to year 2 NPGMC members previously (so many received 2 copies). Several of the tracks had also been made available for download towards the end of NPGMC year 1.

The boxed set was also released to retail but purely as a 3CD version.

Some members of the press might also have received the NPGMC package and reviewed it presuming the studio album was also included in the retail package (which it wasn't).

I personally think the studio piano album is worth having.

WTF?

There's a 3 disc and a 4 disc version? Packaged differently?

The 4th disc must be the ONA (piano) CD, which is EXCELLENT!
But I thought this was included in all versions of ONALive...

Tracklist:
1. One Night Alone
2. U're Gonna C Me
3. Here On Earth
4. A Case Of U
5. Have A heart
6. Objects In The Mirror
7. Avalanche
8. Pearls B4 The Swine
9. Young And Beautiful
10. Arboretum
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

The music is the same...check the tracklist above for the extra CD.
They don't offer the 4th CD anymore, just the regular retail 3 CD version, even
at NPGmusicstore. I don't know where you could get one now, maybe just on Ebay.
It's worth getting, as langebleu said, there are plenty floating around, since
most members received 2 copies.

ONA Piano and Voice is out of print. It may never be made available again. The price is hella high right now, but the disc remains one of my favorites of the last few years. Beautiful compositions, with Prince hitting a lyrical home-run.

I do have an extra sealed copy. Hit me up before I ebay it, if you desire.

There were 2 versions of the set. Both were shrinkwrapped with all CDs together. Yes, the 4-disc set only went to members. Just being technical.
