Stevie Nicks Prince story

Stevie: You wanna hear a story about Prince? One time we played New York and he came and picked me up . . . he wanted to take me out to his house. Of course none of my people wanted to just let me go. Nine-thirty in the morning. We get in Prince's purple car. He was in his purple clothes too. Swear to God. I had halfway gotten out of my stage clothes, but I still had the skirt on, and tennis shoes . . . I get in his car, and we're, I kid you not, in Minnesota. We went down the freeway at 150 miles an hour. And I am, like, "We're gonna get pulled over. This is gonna look so bad. We're gonna get pulled over, Prince. We're going 150 miles an hour." So I went out and spent the day at his purple house. We kind of played around with a song for a little while, in his recording studio a little bit, and then he took me back to be at the Fleetwood Mac plane at, like, three o'clock in the afternoon. I made it back on time to take off and go to the next gig. But I swore we were gonna be pulled over. And how are we gonna . . . looking like we look . . . how are we going to get out of this one? What are we gonna say? We were, you know, we were just casually cruising out to your house, you know . . . at 150 miles an hour. Prince, we're gonna go to jail, both of us. He didn't care. He kept going.

I'm confused here. Was Stevie Nicks in New York (that's what she implies to begin with) to start off and she somehow travels in Prince's car to Minneapolis AND back - there's something not quite right here! Halfway through the story she says they were in Minnesota, despite the fact she started the story having just finished a gig in New York with her stage clothes still half on (at 9.30am???)

How long does it take to travel by car at 150mph from New York to Minneapolis?

Distance between New York, New York, United States and Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States, as the crow flies: 1023 miles. Let's give Stevie the benefit of the doubt and suggest that Prince knows a short cut to his house and he never takes his foot off the gas.

An average speed of 150mph over a 900 mile journey would take four hours. He picked her up at 9.30am - they arrive at his home at 1.30pm - spend the day at his house, mess around in the recording studio, and he drives her back for 3pm!!!!

That's some "trip" Stevie went on - she was dreaming (or 'speeding') when she wrote this.
.
ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

When we lived in the USA, we went on a trip 2 Eastern Pennsylvania which is about 2 hours west of NYC and that trip, one way, took us about 4 DAYS NON-STOP and thats with the increased speed limits!!!!! shocked shocked
I should imagine back then the speed limits were still 55mph on the interstates!!!!!

To me this story just doesnt add up!!!! lol lol lol lol lol lol lol
