& I do got my friend's copy of UTCM in VHS but the quality isn't so good. It's gonna be great 2 see it in a better format quality.

The Purple Rain video is just him playing the song in the movie.

A video where Prince just performs the song in a room. There's something we haven't seen before.

For the second included disc...I would rather see the Syracuse '85 concert included in it's entirety as bonus material.....that would make a great Purple rain package. Disc 1; The Movie....Video clips....historic moments etc. Disc 2 Syracuse 85 concert

I don't think disc space should be a problem. There are so many movies which come out on single-disc dvd with so many extras so they could squeeze a couple or all the videos in there

I agree.The Prince and The Revolution Live in '85 would be a great addition to the PR DVD package.My sister and I have fond Purple Rain memories.We were already huge Prince fans by the time the movie came out.We 1st heard about the writing of the screenplay in the Rolling Stone magazine article written by Kurt Loder in 1983.That's the one with Prince and Vanity on the cover and she has her hand down his pants.Then we started getting bits and pieces of the plot and reports from the set in Black Beat and Rock and Soul Magazine.

By the time the single and video for "When Doves Cry"was released in the spring of 1984,those who had heard the new Prince tracks(including "Electric Intercourse"and "G-Spot")were already predicting the coming of a "purple summer"My dad had connections to a local radio station.He managed to get my sister an I passes to the private screening of the movie.We were so psyched!!At the theatre,we received a vinyl copy of the soundtrack(pre-CD days)and the official movie poster.We were blown away!!Not only for the music and the live performances,but this was the first time we had actually heard Prince speak!We had heard him talk on some of his songs and in concert,but not in a normal conversation.This was before any of his televison appearances.It was surreal!Once Purple Rain was released in July of 1984,we were Prince junkies.We had the album,bought all the singles with all the incredible B-sides("17 Days","Erotic City""God","Another Lonely Christmas"),The Time and Appolonia 6 album,and we would go see the movie twice a week until it was released on VHS!

Am I the only one here who spys the obvious fake DVD cover/discs and fails to believe the bull details?????

I think it's fake - none of the DVD website have anything on a new release - And if it is released it will probaly be overseas first then in the USA.
