Does anyone else have music as busy as Prince's On some songs you can listen and pick out stuff just fine but some its like man where did
that come from. I mean tracks like Melt With you, My Name is Prince, and stuff like that. I mean on some of his stuff you'll be like "there's no way I can tell everything in this song". I mean seriously sound effects come from everywhere and jump in and jump back out and certain stuff does'nt come in till certain times and then dissappears for good. Man I tellya ya gotta be talented just to keep all this stuff straight and have it happen like its supposed to. Gotta have some talented Mixers or Sound Engineers or whoever's in charge of it. WOW!! Its sorta overwhelming sometimes. You'll sit there listening and be like . Where'd that come from?, Where'd that come from?, What is that?, What is that? Anyone else try and do that and see the futility of it? "Why'd I waste my kisses on you baby?" R.I.P. Prince You've finally found your way back home. Well Done.

Frank Zappa's music can be even busier.
Also, the Mahavishnu Orchestra and virtually anything by John McLaughlin. . [This message was edited Fri May 28 0:56:34 2004 by mrdespues]

Interesting. Prince to me can be busy musically but also very spare and economical. I mean tracks like SOTT and Kiss have almost nothing to them when you think about it.
To me this is part of what makes P so unique. He'll put out SOTT as a single and put La La La He He Hee on the Bside. You couldn't find two more contrasting songs than those. if you've gotta pay for things that you've done wrong I've gotta big bill coming at the end of the day- Gil Scott Heron
