No offense at all to 'dioblack', but that was the funniest reply I've ever seen.

i beg to differ. p.s. I used to think getting back together with them would be a good thing. I don't think so now. It's been a long time since they played together. I doubt that would have what it takes to play live like he's doing now. I tend to look at all of the players now as just different eras and styles...some better than others. They all were there during some really good musical moments...all of them. I do think a revisit with the Revolution to finish things would be very welcome and appropriate. But not for the long term nor for good. Studiowise he was very prolific with them..but jamming and live...the fit was not so good. Oh and IMO. Christian Zombie Vampires

I understand that sometimes people want to relive past glories, BUT this is not 1984. And besides, it wouldn't be the same because P and everyone else is not the same. You're not the same, at least I hope you're not. I'm not. Let P, Lisa, Brown Mark, Wendy, Bobby and Matt do their thing. If they do get back together, let it be because they have something NEW to offer, not having Prince come from underneath the stage with a gang of smoke saying "Dearly Beloved". They have totally been there and done that. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

I feel you BG.. but Brown Mark is sorely missed... he is the funkiest and baddest bass player for Prince. Saw Prince last night @ the Staples Center in L.A. "P" definitely rocked it though but i just missed Brown Mark's thang. No disrespect to Rhonda. Which came first , music or the ear for it?

I could deal with that. One last get together wouldn't hurt, I suppose. I would also like to hear some new music come out of that. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

Corny as it may seem. When I was at his LA show, I hoped at some point he would put on that purple studded jacket, Wendy would step on stage and they would rip through a couple of songs. Talk about going nuts. Silly or not, I think the crowd would have truly lost their minds. [This message was edited Thu May 27 19:01:43 2004 by Welcome2daRevolution] CALL ME A DREAMER 2!

YUP. What WOULD be nice though would be some sort of song collaboration on an album or two. I will do today what you won't, so tomorrow I can do what you can't.

I'm screaming at the caps joke, but seriously- what's done is done. Jamming together for a song or two would be cool, but nothing more than that... The season is past.... I love the Revolution, but....
For You Prince Dirty Mind Controversy 1999 Black Album Lovesexy ... all made without the Revolution. The Revolution was special (the most special band Prince has had, where he was at a creative and commercial peak), but I always think when band's reform it seems tinged with a tragic edge due to the inevitable inability to recapture the magic.

Past members of the revolution (and others) had a whole lot to do with the making of
Dirty Mind , Controversy & 1999 Good lord are people still in belief of this myth? Sorry to burst the bubble.

I dont know if I would consider a few backing vocals from Lisa or Dez THAT integral to the making of those albums , but if that's the bubble YOU want to live in...have at it. I know the facts, there's no myth, but they're not credited to the Revolution - and even the one's that were are mainly Prince. Maybe not the whole lot...but they were around...they must have had some input/output...or something. When you work with other people, stuff rubs off. And I know that not everyone got credit all of the time. I am from the school, that if players are around, they are inputing...though however minutely...though they may not get the credit. Certainly not disagreeing with you, NouveauDance, as you are very credible and got your facts in order. But things like "the ball" in which he worked on with W&L(I think) turns into eye no on Lovesexy. Again I am assuming that since this was recoded during revolution years (in my mind stretch as far back as Dirty Mind and go up to Lovesexy...he was with at least one or more members...oh and IMO...), that they were a part of the process. I really don't think we'll ever know how much input anyone had at any one time. I mean a key change suggested by a member or even accidentally played by another member, could have gotten into the song...without a credit....easily. Or an extra snare hit on accident. If you see my drift. Now if he went into a room and recorded these songs by himself and/or then brought in the band to play it exactly like he did...then I can see how there would be absolutely no input. But I don't think that's what happened. Christian Zombie Vampires

Band members often had a lot less input into Prince's records than most people realise.
Over half the stuff released as 'Prince and the Revolution' was actually still Prince solo.
