Chuck D name drops Prince on Air America radio show Every morning at work I've been listening to the Internet stream of the new left-leaning radio network Air America, and from 8-11am (CST) Chuck D co-hosts a radio show with a few other people called Unfiltered. Topics are pretty much unlimited, but Chuck D provides a lot of insights into the state of music.
Today the hosts were talking about seeing James Brown and how he's such a great performer, even now at 71 years old. One guy mentioned that none of the other soul performers on the scene today can touch the level James Brown is at, but then Chuck D mentioned that Prince has "a fantastic new album out, Musicology," and his look on the album is reminiscent of JB. That's pretty much it, but given the lack of mainstream radio exposure, I thought it was cool to hear the album mentioned on this (new) station. Hopefully the station will start getting picked up in more markets. If you're hardcore conservative (U.S. politics-wise), then it's probably not your thing. I happen to love Al Franken though, and the block of Chuch D's show followed by Al's is great (and humorous) listening. [This message was edited Fri May 28 11:11:43 2004 by Chacmool]

Chuck is always worth the listen. Thanks for the info. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.
