I'm sorry but the LOVESEXY album is way overrated...imo....out of all of Prince's CD's from the 80's, I think LOVESEXY is the weakest. "Anna Stesia", "When 2 R In Love" and "I Wish U Heaven" are gems but the rest of the album range from good("I Know", "Dance On") to alright ("Alphabet St.,Positivity") to WTF("Lovesexy" , "Glam Slam. ") I see why this CD barely went Gold in 1988....Prince has made many albums better than Lovesexy with better songs. Anyone else think Lovesexy is HIGHLY overrated. I know most of yall love that album on here but I definitely dont hear it

It's better than anything he's done since then.

Well i'll have to be on Evil's side, its not overrated. Its not about great songs with thise one, the album as whole is amazing. The album stays conbsistant, and has a direction and theme, its like a story almost.
After u hear it, it creates a mood for u unlike a lot of albums that are just a bunch of fill tracks.

Lovesexy should be a symbol on how to make an album.

Even the fucking name is amazing, LoveSexy, what a combo, its pure art.

His mind was so focused on that album.

I couldn't say enough about the album.

" No" Is slamming, I mean what makes a lot of Prince songs amazing is his ability to create songs around an audience, he thinks what it will be like live.

1st listen:OK.GOING THE JAZZ ROUTE.
2nd listen:I HEARD YOU THE 1ST TIME!
3rd listen:JOY IN REPITITION? NOT IN PLAYING IT!

to make a long story short,LOVESEXY IS WAY BETTER THAN TRC.(IMO).

i think he spiritually overdid it.

he'll find his balance again.

I think it is an overrated, overproduced album too. It was a letdown to me when it was released back in '88 and I still don't really like the album, except for a few songs.

It's definitely overrated. Half the songs on it are pretty average and forgettable, and I'm sorry but the one long track idea is still one of the stupidest ideas of all time.

I know it took some a while for Lovesexy to grow on them, but for me it was the opposite. I absolutely adored it at first but then grew tired of some of the songs.

Its not simply just the Lovesexy Album that was so great... but the whole Lovesexy Experience that was so incredible.

To say its overrated is seriously overlooking the wonderful feeling the world concerts gave was of a genuine and higher spiritual nature than anything he has ever done. It was wild raw energy in a ying yang effect with its sister album "Black" as a double album, a double whammy that had myself and others at the show leaving on cloud 9.

You kinda had to have been there at the peak of the 80's, Prince touring with Sheila, Cat , Matt Fink and Eric Leeds all on one stage. Its part of the reason why everyone runs the album up the flagpole and salutes it. Its a time capsule and symbol of a great year.
