IAN!!!! Agreed - I've said many times Cinnamon Girl is the nutsucker of the disc Clumsy is hitting the bullseye. When I hear this song, I shudder at how Prince really needs to turn the hotel tube off and start seeing/traveling the world. Its a lyrical nutsucker indeed. The rest of the album is pretty cute.

Are you trying to say that cinnamon coloured people have not had a hard time or been discriminated against since 9/11? Who needs to get out in the real world? When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

Cinnamon Girl is one of my favorite tracks off Musicology. It definitely has that cheery summer jangly-pop vibe to it. Any naysayers can go themselves. And that's the truth. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

No it's not one of the best songs of the summer...it would have been ICPC!! "Just like the sun, the Rainbow Children rise."
"We had fun, didn't we?" -Prince (1958-2016) 4ever in my life

It's actually grown on me...hated it at first, it's just doesn't rock very hard (until that end part, which then just kinda fades out...)
But I think the lyrics make it worthwhile. There are so few artists even attempting to express something about this screwed up war, and even though I wish he didn't end it by saying the bible has all the answers, I'm still appreciative of his connecting the dots between war and racism.
