80's new wave funk is back, where's Prince?

It looks like the next big wave is new wave funk. Listen to Pink, No Doubt, Britney, George Michael, Beck, Daft Punk and a few others and basically Prince Controversy-1999 era is back. Even the clothing style is coming back. Now is the time for Prince to do what he does best. Drop Najee, bring back the funky synth horns, the in your face bass, the linn drum machine and the blazing heavy metal guitar solos! Sure he wants to move on, but every major artist has gone back to the well at least once, and I never really got my fill of that early 80's Mpls.sound.

1990s Pre TRC = Running in place with flashes of brilliance to keep you semi-interested.

2001 TRC = 1 step up.

Going back to the 80 thru 83 era in 2002 = 2 steps back.

Listen to Dirty Mind thru 1999.

GAWD I can't stand 80s "funk". Prince was the only pop artist from whom I could tolerate all that e-drums and synth horns crap. too mechanincal and sterile. forget the retro; come with the organic funk..

If it stanks, it's funky!

You were of course in the minority, even among Prince fans.
