Wow!! Just listened to Play in the Sunshine!!

Never realized how much is going on in that song. No way I would be able to pick everything

out in it. Also was that recorded at a live concert or is it a studio cut?

That song has a lot of energy for it to be a studio cut.

It sounds like they're having a real good time on it. Sounds like a true party going on.

The band sounds tight. I think this was still the revolution in some form or another right?

This man has truly had some great bands and played with some great musicians.

eek eek eek eek

this song is so criminally underrated - it's one of my absolute favorites.

I absolutely love this track. It's a perfect example of why SOTT is his best album, and a true buried treasure. It's songs like this (I hate to be negative, but this must be said) that make almost everything he's done since so disappointing. He's capable of being amazingly great - the SOTT album is all the proof you'll ever need - , but so often he's just mediocre. WHY???

Also was that recorded at a live concert or is it a studio cut?

Nope, apart from the backing vocals, this is Prince and Prince alone in the studio. In fact, think this is the perfect song to play if you ever want to convince someone of prince's musical ability.

Honestly though, wont it just be wonderful? I can't wait to bathe in the re-masters... if they ever come.

I never get tired of this track.

I love the live performance of this track on the SOTT video. The little guitar bit after "not bad for a girl" is one of my fave Prince moments...

I don´t like this track, it´s gay rock in my book. One of my least favorite Prince tracks.

Funny thing, I used to use the lyrics to Play in the Sunshine as a guide to how drunk I was. If I could remember the lyrics I figured I wasn't too drunk.

HEY, I was just about to make a post of this gem.

I love it, The album version AND the live performance at the 1987 VMAs.

The performance was how I first heard it...but I still don't have SOTT. sad

absolutely one of my all-time top 10 favorites.

love2the9s, now check the SOTT concert film version. it blazes.

it should be illegal. i don't know how it avoided the censors for being too good.
i don't know why prince wasn't burned at the stake with this one for making so much other music look so tepid and weak.
