Madonna, Prince, Morrissey returning [msn.com Excerpt]

http://msnbc.msn.com/id/5044914/

Like Madonna, Prince has undergone an image makeover. His “Musicology” tour began in March and is set to run through August 31. Fans are glad to have His Purpleness back, although he too has found religion and is much less inclined to indulge in songs having to do with the randier end of human experience. Prince is a Jehovah’s Witness, which means it’s O.K. to let him ramble on inside an arena, but if you let him into your living room to do so, he may never leave. Still, a Prince concert is a fun time, featuring enough funk to keep the purists pledging their eternal devotion.

Madonna has had more re-inventions than Ive had hot dinners!!!! I dont think she can re-invent herself anymore!!!

And as for Morrisey!! He can never re-invent himself, cos he will always sound the same and look the same, which is boring, melancholy and melodramatic!!! lol lol lol lol lol

i would think madonna's reinventions are about the same as p. dude has come with a different look with each album just about.

WTF is this idiot trying 2 say?!

He's clearly bashing Prince and JWs, with an obvious issue.

What's this "It's OK to let him ramble on inside an arena..." bullshit?!

There was no 'rambling' at the show I was at.

This is the kind of moron that would call N.E.W.S. 'rambling', even though it's musical themes are clear and well arranged.

Peace.

This is not accurate as far as Prince is concerned. To say he has reinvented himself is not fully accurate. Those of us who followed him through the lull in main market attention know that he evolved to what he is now - which IS Prince. THe reason that he is so hot now is that the general public has a big gap between Purple Rain and now - they missed all the greatness the didnt get on MTV or the newspapers. THis is why the uninformed are calling it a comeback. It is also why Prince refuses to call it a comeback or reinvention. I mean, Prince is still Prince - just without the profanity. The sexiness is still there - which a testament to his charisma and genius. He can still do it without any sense of editing or diminshed potency.

The only thing that I miss are the splits!

Prince hasnt invented himself at all...he's just growing like each and everyone of us!

whereas madonna and the music "industry" has had to branch out to stay alive!

madonna's albums now a day all play the same sound! cheapest ticks to her concerts are £100+!!

someone needs the money! biggrin

Co-sign - and listen to the America song on his new album - what Prince wishes to achieve lyrically in Dear Mr. Man Mr. Morrisey does with such ease and "grace", spitting out the words but never being one-sided.

Love the new album!!! Every open-minded Prince fan should buy it, at least those who claim they need more "real music by real people"

Co-co-sign! Those that think Morrissey is just melodramatics and melancholy totally miss his ironic humour. He's always been very "wink wink" with his lyrics. He pokes so much fun at English culture, and I guess it just flies over some people's heads. He's freakin' brilliant!

I think that P wanted u 2 know what side he's on with Dear Mr.Man instead of being on the fence. That's exactly y i love the song! Mr. Morrisey might not want 2 offend potential record buyers whereas P has never really gave a shit what people thought!

If u look closely at Madonna's career she has mirrored Prince from the beginning of her career. Sexuality combined with religion and a different look 4 each album. I'd say that she owes P some royalties.
