I'm really starting to appreciate a well played bass....

while listening to Prince before. I never noticed it really but it is a cool instrument.

Its very versatile and is amazing how it can change up.

You can play it in a way where it blends in and you can still hear it but it goes right along with

the song and then you can also play it where is shows out and just clowns on a song and

takes it over. Its fun listening now and trying to catch the different ways its being used or

is it blending in or taking over.
"Why'd I waste my kisses on you baby?" R.I.P. Prince You've finally found your way back home. Well Done.

ITA...i never really paid much attention to the bass before, now I purposely seek it out. P kills the bass on 777-9311. That has to be his funkiest cut....cotdam....P tears it up.... biggrin

I've always loved the bass, especially dynamic bass like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Primus, or as mentioned above 777-9311.
I noticed recently how the bass on Alphabet St is incredible.
I didn't like Say My Name until yesterday, when I focused on the bass & piano. I still am not crazy about some of the lyrics, but I was struck once again about how effortless Prince's playing is.
