The word in L.A. on Nicole Richie goes like this.....First of all Lionel is not the biological father, the real father is Sheila E.'s brother Juan, the one who played with Sheila on the Purple Rain tour and with Lionel's All Night Long Tour.The Richies adopted her with the blessings of the Escovedo's due to the real mother being out of the picture. Juan could not take care of her early on. But the mystery mother's credibility is apparently suspect due to Nicole's drug history. Hence the Escovedo's distance from her(Nicole).And she was around Prince and the whole Paisley clique when she was a small child.

hhahaha i can't imagine Shelia having a problem with Nicole's drug problem. Shelia could've babysat and fired up rocks of crack with her. Shelia was WELL into drugs in the early 90's.
