well not completely canceled, just the npgmc members that paid .25 cents were told 2 go home. here is how it went:


- 1:35pm showed up with my friend at the studios.
- checked in (at studio 4) and signed a document that allowed Prince 2 use our image in the video
- waited around
- waited some more
-3:00pm they did a wardrobe check. most were fine but some had 2 change ties, dress shirts and some women had 2 change their tops. (they wanted very dark wardrobe.
- waited again
- 3:15pm Prince enters into the studio, waves us all 2 come around him because he has an announcement 2 make. he tells us that the set is a very small set and he will not be needing us. he apologized and thanked us all 4 coming out. somebody from the crowd asked if they could join Prince on the stage during the filming and Prince answered back and said, "U can come. I can use U but there is barely enough room for Chance (Howard) and myself(Prince)."
- 3:30pm some people from the bumsquad announced a small get 2gether at a nearby Acaplulco Restaurant 4 some drinks.
- 3:35pm my friend and I decided 2 walk around the studio lot. we ran into Chance Howard and Rhonda Smith and we got 2 meet Candy Dulfer and talk 2 her.

So, it would have been perfect 2 B in the video but 4 myself and my friend it turned out pretty cool. We got 2 see Prince 4 a brief moment, we got 2 talk 2 some of the band members and now I am home 2 watch the Lakers Game!!!

Bummer that the video shoot got cancelled.

Oh man!!! Well at least it didn't go in vain, nice to see the purpleman at any rate & good opportunity to meet the band members, but they should've squeezed you guys in there somewhere, you know what I mean?!!! Hey, maybe next time....

well, the video was not completely canceled. they stilled filmed the video, just without the NPGMC members as the extras. and the reason that Prince gave 4 that was the set that was designed 4 the video was very small and it would not hold all of us there. my opinion is that they hired professional extras and they decided 2 use them instead. can't wait 2 see this video. one of the NPGMC members accidentaly was sent 2 the wrong stage and he got a chance 2 see the set. he said it was a small stage and tables set up in front of it. kind of like a small intimate nightclub scene. this is what this one member Xplained 2 us. but I just thought it was cool that Prince came out in person 2 deliver the news. he could have had anyone else do it. but he decided 2 do it himself. actually, he looked a little (very little) peeved. but i didn't know if it was because of the video set and cancelling on the members or if it was because people were kind of yelling things out 2 Prince while he was telling us he had 2 cancel on us. but over all he was very cool. looked very sharp.

Glad 2 C there's still gonna be a video because thats a great song.

i don't know the exact number but there out of all the people that were there i did listen 2 alot of people talk and they talked about the club. so there was a pretty good size of club memebers there.

Well it's disappointing to the club members who showed up but, stuff happens.

I think it was VERY cool that Prince came out himself to explain the situation to everyone and I'm sure he felt bad about things turning out the way they did.

Londell: Why don't we have your NPG members pay 25 cents each to "be in the video" and we will call this a "processing fee". Then when they show up you could come out, pat them on the head, and send them off. We have the money for the hour or two of studio time and everybody wins!

...on an afterthought, all Prince had to do was put himself & Mani in the video. That's it.
