We all know Prince has many great ballads. I believe there are a few most of us would agree

on like Do Me Baby, Adore, International Lover and for me Scandalous and Insatiable but

what I wanna know is what Prince ballads has he done that you think that haven't gotten the

attention they should have and belong up there with Adore or Do Me Baby.

My choice would be One Kiss at a Time. OWWWW that song is so tight that it hurts but

it seems like I never really heard anyone talk about it and as much as I like Call My Name

and continue to like it even more when I keep listening to it I think One Kiss at a Time

is better. I'd be interested in your thoughts.

Another one I really love but seems overlooked is Crucial from Crystal Ball.

I really liked The Love We Make. For some reason I just really got into that one. I loved One Kiss at a Time too. I've never met anyone else who liked it. The Ladder was great. And Into the Light is a favorite among my friends here. I also liked Saviour. Not too many people agreed with me about that. And Sweet Baby and Damn U were awesome. I love all of Prince's slower songs really, but yeah I agree there are a lot that don't get the attention I think they deserve.

We're talking "POWER" ballads, right? Some of those mentioned aren't "power" ballads. Anyway, "Saviour" is a pretty cool power ballad.

Power Fantastic! Lovely

International Lover will forever be in my mind as a great song. I was SO IN LOVE with Prince at the time that I was listening to that album over and over and over and over again. I was a mere child. It holds a certain level of nostalgia for me, even after all these years.

Man, I can't believe tha no one has mentioned Pink Cashmere! Now that one is underrated and super bad ass! The vocals and the guitar at the end of the song are fabulous. Pink Cashmere UNDERRATED!

Most of these songs mentioned aren't even Power Ballads.

Purple Rain is a power ballad
Gold is a power ballad
The Love We Make is a power ballad

Pink Cashmere, Power Fantastic or Adore are NOT power ballads.

If you don't know what a power ballad sounds like,
go listen to some Diane Warren tracks
then make your choice.

Power Fantastic without a dought

If I have to be really honest:
The first two albums have great ballads
"Gotta broken heart again" is great
"Do me baby" is fantastic
Than there comes a time when the ballads are real fine ...
..... the last ballad I can stand is "When 2 R in Love"

But after that one the ballads are
a) oversentimental
or
b) overproduced
or
c) way too much of something ... I can't define it, but they're way over the top
or
d) or copy of another bad ballad released on the earlier album
or
e) just pure rubbish
