Should Prince do another movie?

How many of you think Prince should do another movie? I know he's had his flop films, but should he just throw in the towel,or try again? What do you think a new Prince film should be about?

I don't think he should be allowed to *go* to the movies after GB!

LOLOL!!! 2 cold, 9s... lol

*

I wouldn't mind seeing him in another flick, but he must surrender to a director who could guide him into a great performance. He can do it, he just shouldn't direct himself anymore IMO...

and the film should be about... music?
heart prince I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it prince heart

I agree. If Prince DOES decide to do another movie,he MUST hire a skilled director! It it telling that his one successful film ('Purple Rain') was directed by someone other than Prince. In addition,he will have to do a more "realistic" film.None of that cryptic "It's just around the corner" nonsense.

It might also be a good idea for him to accept small roles in other films.Spike Lee has mentioned that he would LOVE to cast Prince in one of his films. This would be a great way for Prince to gain a little legitmacy as an actor.

A 'Best Of Live' would be great to see.
Or "Heaven & Earth" this screenplay that is out there that is about two best friends in a ghetto that grow apart over a girl. One of them goes the wrong way and ends up in jail and the other makes a carreer for himself and gets successful.
Prince should play the bad guy. He'ld be good at that.

He's not a good actor or director. He should just leave it alone and just do what he does best !

Here are some movie ideas that I came up with...

***Prince plays the leader of a 70s funk band. The film takes place in the 70s,and it shows the rise and fall of a hot 70s recording group.

***Prince plays the owner/CEO of a successful record company. He takes pretty young singers, sleeps with them, and makes them famous.Trouble ensues when he actually falls in love with his next "conquest",a truly talented vocalist who is no dummy.

***Prince plays a jazz musician who once had a thriving career, but now must teach music at a ghetto high school just to make ends meet.He must try to teach REAL music to a bunch of hip-hop loving,thugged-out teenagers!

Hey,these are JUST suggestions!!

From what I understand,Kristen originally tried out for one of the smaller roles, but when Prince saw her,he immediately decided to give her the bigger role as his love interest.

Prince should do another concert film like "Sign O The Times". This was the only film he directed that was truly great.

RUN DMC- KIRKY J, TONY M, TC ELLIS

FAT BOYS- MORRIS DAY, JESSE JOHNSON, BROWNMARK

KURTIS BLOW- JEROME BENTON

SHEILA E.- INGRID CHAVEZ

L L COOL J- ERIC LEEDS

Yes, entitled: THE LONELY PAINTER; Tells how and why mega stars eventually end up lonely and reclusive, showing why true artist are never really understood. Ill write it for him. He'll portray a mordern day Van Gohg, whos paintings sell for millions$$.I can see a scene where he's at an auction trying to buy back his paintings because they are becoming commercial ornaments, something that he never wanted, and its killing him.He doesnt have the money to even buy back his own art, and they escort him out of the auction. As he leaves he draws a sad face in the mud, and walks away. The movie ends as a truck loade with his paintings drives by and splashes over the sad face in the mud.Hmmm..

Yes, I agree. I would really like to see Prince in a supporting role in an urban reality based film. We've already seen him do the fantasy comedy thing with Under the Cherry Moon.

If Prince had been interested in pursuing a serious acting career, he would have taken smaller parts in other people's movies in the 80s and 90s. His only interest in movies was as a vehicle for his music.

Theaters are full of crap right now, but ain't nobody dying to see another lousy Prince flick, especially since nobody (except us) really cared about TRC. Better stick to live performances and NPGMC (lol).

I remember reading in the U ask :prince: section on the old NPGOnlineLTD site that Prince and Spike Lee had talked over doing a project 2gether. However, if they wanted 2 make any money on the project, they would have 2 bring in a strong supporting cast and have an outstanding script. Prince no longer has the mass appeal 2 be a box office draw on his own, but I think that he has enough talent as an actor 2 play a significant role in a well written film.

Anxiety

I think he should trust another director to cast him in a small character part if he ever decides to humor a film career again. Maybe Spike or John Singleton could write a small, funky role for him (like Spike did with Madonna in "Girl 6") - if he racked enough quirky little roles like this up over a few years, he might be able to salvage some cred from his embarrassingly effed-up film career.

Calhoun! What's wrong with John Singleton? OK,so "Poetic Justice" was a disaster, but "Higher Learning" kicks ass!
