This question was put to me today, so will ask you guys, and hopefully you'll answer;

If you had to include one track to the final track list of purple rain which would it be;
A - Erotic City
B- Shes alway in my hair,
c- 17 Days,

The selection doesn't have to be your favourite, but which song would better suit the album.

Or If you think it should be another track please state,

Actually, while we're at it, " How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore" should have been added to the end of "1999"

That was a Purple rain B-side that, like erotic City and 17Days, was brilliant! ... a Christmas song on Purple Rain? hmmmm...Well, if you know that song then you'll know that it sounds nothing like one. I think it was wasted because it had Christmas in the title and it's such a dramatic song ... BRILLIANT!!!

No tracks need to be added to Purple Rain, although Computer Blue and Let's Go Crazy both need to be in their original extended versions!!!

Oh, and "God", at least the vocal version, is one of Prince's worst songs ever....

Erotic City - has nothing musically or lyrically to do with Purple Rain, and wouldn't 'fit' (IMO)
She's Always In My Hair - was the b-side to Raspberry Beret, and therefore if it was gonna
be added to any album, it should be Around The World In A Day.
17 Days - has the right 'sound' (and it's also got the 'rain' reference in the lyrics) as well as
originally being a contender for the Apollonia 6 album, which again ties it to the movie
(even though it isn't actually in it).

The obvious choice would have to be the instrumental version of God, as this WAS actually
used in the movie... But, it's quite long and would definitely ruin the flow of the album if it
was included in the running order. The only place you could put it without upsetting the flow
would be to tag it on the end after Purple Rain.

Other tracks that could possibly be included would be...
Another Lonely Christmas - again, doesn't really fit with the album.
G-Spot - right period, but it was replaced by Darling Nikki and having both tracks included
wouldn't really work IMO. Plus it was later officially released by Jill Jones.
Electric Intercourse - same again, it was bumped off the album by the superior The Beautiful
Ones, and to include both tracks wouldn't really work.

have to say 17 Days. She's always in my hair should also always only be heard in its full

form and not that edit on Hits/B-sides. YUCK!!

they should issue a whole other album of the purple rain outtakes an b sides, id buy it
