probably all albums will be listed here sooner or later but I's have to go with with ATWIAD since it captures the whole atmosphere of the album so well

I love "SOTT", you barely see him in the corner, but I love that! It's just putting emphasis on the music by the cover instead of him!

i'd have 2 go with either dirty mind or 1999. or i can go with both, that 2.

Sign "O" The Times. I love the type design. When I was a design student I met the designers involved. Kind of a long story. I posted the stories before. Maybe they'll be searchable. Kinda lazy and I got to go, if not I'd write them all out.

I think he was on a roll from "Around the World in a Day" through "Sign 'O' The Times". I'd include "Lovesexy", but I still think it was a bit flimsy, even if the cover is as strong and iconic as we all know it to be.

I think some of Park's stuff is kinda rushed or sloppy but I like:

* Chaos & disorder
* 1999
* Sign o Times
* The Rainbow Children


* the worst is new power soul.. the songs don't match the back cd cover order.. & the greatest romance ever sold (single) the "symbol" is not even placed on correctly.. it is too close the font..

SOTT was on a list of the 100 best album covers of all time a few years ago. Maybe Rolling Stone...

I listen to the CD but I'll never get rid of my vinyl version, just because it looks so friggin' cool. In fact...maybe I'll mount it in a frame.

Around The World In A Day - Gorgeous album cover that fit the music perfectly. 45s had kickass sleeves. It was playful, amusing, and a nice break from all the other cheesy teased-up hair/leather outfits/trashy new wave makeup album covers during that time. Mentally when I hear Moonbeam Levels and In All My Dreams, i think of the AWTWIAD album cover all the time.


Prince Hits / B-Sides. - These are some of my absolute favorite photos of Prince, especially the one with the fall leaves that gently allude to an end of Prince (at least for a little while) and he's looking down.
